#ThrowbackThursday: @VoteMarsha received 33 (!) letters from @FEC re: over $100K in unreported donations - while her campaign finance chair was Kline Preston, 1 degree of separation from Vladimir #Putin thru Preston's pal Torshin (see pinned thread). #RussianConspiracy#TNSen
From the @JSunNews article "Group files complaint against Blackburn's campaign committee" 12 June '08 by Bill Theobald:
Just this week another close @VoteMarsha pal, Judson Phillips - her mouthpiece for years - was disbarred for fraud.
As we've said all along: @TNGOP, Koch Brothers @AFPhq and @VoteMarsha have nothing that even remotely compares to their own scandals to hang on @PhilBredesen.
UNlike @VoteMarsha, Phil has never been investigated by the FEC, his close associates aren't tied to Putin/Russia and aren't being disbarred for fraud.
He's never directed money to his family (he never lived in the Governors Mansion his supporters paid half the tab to rehab.)
@TNGOP, the Koch Brothers and @VoteMarsha have to make stuff up to have any campaign at all.
👉🏾 Want a government that works again? Let's work to elect @PhilBredesen.
We were just talking about @VoteMarsha personal and political scandals. It's not like this is the first time she's failed to report salient information. #TNSen
Keene and his wife were, of course, introduced to Butina's handler Alex Torshin- and likely Butina- by longtime @VoteMarsha associate (frmr campaign finance chair & re-elect head) Kline Preston.
Alexander Torshin is, of course, the mob-connected Russian Senator who was invited by @VoteMarsha re-elect org chair Kline Preston to observe TN elections in Nashville in 2012. #TNSen
Here's Torshin with Preston and @BillHaslam - at the @TNGOP victory party here in Nashville on Nov 6, 2012, same event where @VoteMarsha spoke. Yet we're to believe she didn't meet with Torshin.
What kind of access did Torshin get?
What kind of help is @VoteMarsha getting from Russia right now, while @SecTreHargett refuses to spend TN's Help America Vote funds - $29 million - to secure our election?
We're beginning to form the opinion that it's unacceptable that electeds and pro transit advocates are disavowing the PR campaign behind @TransitforNash and its myriad conflicts of interest - in so doing painting folks like us as crackpots for asking questions about it.
It also makes us really angry that we're being told everyone with objections to this plan are doing so in bad faith and - these are fighting words to us - apologists for Donald freaking Trump.
