What do you do when you disagree with someone ? ... How do you handle a different perspective? ... I check we are talking about the same thing... consider the logic and evidence and finally stress test their conclusions...
I did that and I disagreed with @CarolineLucas my leader

First off @CarolineLucas is #spectacularly bright, #hardworking and a #visionary who pulled me into @TheGreenParty orbit. There are very few... perhaps no other UK politicians with a more determined record of standing up for our collective #environmental #rights #newgreenpolitics

But a few days ago we found out about a #conviction for the rape of a little girl that shocked us all. Including apparently @GreenPartyAimee, but apparently the party officials like @judymaciejowska had not been informed of the charges. #newgreenpolitics

Some people unfairly focused on #AimeeChallenor in terms of her trans status. That was not #relevant. @CarolineLucas was right to call for that to stop. Members raising #GreenParty safeguarding policy issues #legitimately shouldnt be shut out. But this isnt a trans issue either.

However many many members #publicly and #privately asked how a deputy #leadership #candidate who potentially hidden knowlegde of pending #criminal proceedings could hide them from the #party and not be #suspended while @TheGreenParty investigates the matter. This is wrong.

@TheGreenParty is a democratic party. We as members have a duty to #constructively #criticise poor decisions made by the #governing bodies #GPEX and #GPRC
But to #deserve #leadership and #goverment we must make #robust and #balanced #decisions

We must #suspend #aimeechallenor and the #people who #potentially misled the #party. Then #investigate who potentially hid #crucial #information
Otherwise the investigation wont be seen as #independent
This kind of crime shouldnt happen close to the @thegreenparty again.

An immediate #nonfault #suspension is the correct step to take in these #circumstances ... the party structure doesnt allow @CarolineLucas to do this unilaterally... #GPEX and #GPRC are responsible for these processes. We are all watching

I want to take this small opportunity to offer my #condolences to the #family and #child who were the real victims of this #horrible episode. As a #parent i can only begin to imagine the pain this has and will cause. You are in my prayers from afar.
