Statement by Green Party Women asserts that #AimeeChallenor had some knowledge of the charges against her father/agent - and, crucially, that the party did too (end of 2nd screenshot) 1/x
This contradicts the original statement from the party (since deleted) that they had no knowledge of the charges until David Challenor was convicted #AimeeChallenor
Statement by Clare Phipps for Green Party Women calls for the party to apologise to #AimeeChallenor for not disclosing that they (allegedly) knew of the charges at the time:
One can assume Green Party staffers aren't best pleased with this public statement from an influential internal Green group, at the start of an independent investigation... #AimeeChallenor
Crucial fact: Clare Phipps - whose name heads this statement - was Chair of the national party at the time David Challenor was charged (Nov 2016) #AimeeChallenor
So in saying 'the party' had some knowledge of the charges against David Challenor, this appears to be self-implicating #AimeeChallenor
A former elected Green tells me: "Surely anyone who had this information but sat on it should be sacked for gross misconduct if a staff member or expelled if an officer?" #AimeeChallenor
Several members getting in touch re Caroline Lucas' Guardian piece on the #AimeeChallenor story - which focused on trans rights rather than the scandal itself. This from a former elected Green:
Another former senior party figure tells me: "I think after a prominent party member [was] convicted of child rape, an op ed on what the greens propose to do about violence against women and girls would have been more tasteful. I’ve lost all faith." #AimeeChallenor
Latest statement from the Green Party tonight says the investigation will be "thorough and progressive" and will "identity [sic] the facts". Not sure what a progressive investigation is... #AimeeChallenor
Note there has been - perhaps understandably - little mention of Tina Challenor (married to D. Challenor), also a Green activist, who appointed her husband as her agent in the local elections - after charges had been brought #AimeeChallenor
A fair few people @'ing Caroline Lucas into this, but not Jonathan Bartley. I've got a great deal of respect for both of them, and though Caroline has been the main leadership figure commenting on this, it's important to remember it's a co-leadership #AimeeChallenor
Similarly, there appear to be serious institutional issues at play here - including safeguarding, vetting and disciplinary/investigation processes and resourcing. It's not just about #AimeeChallenor, it's structural too. From what I understand, this may not be an isolated case

This contradicts the party's initial statement which said ‘the Green Party was not aware of any of these allegations until the case concluded’ (2/x) #AimeeChallenor
Messages seen by LFF confirm that Challenor knew her father had been charged with sexual offences in November 2016 - and that she informed elected party figures #AimeeChallenor (3/x)
