Invitation to established &well-informed Irish feminists to reach back, not jonly to raise up those excluded, but also to bring in those who need to learn. Share ur spaces, ur knowledge. Some of us need to unlearn, some have no access to learning, others don't know where to begin
'Do the work' is only helpful when there are signposted paths to knowledge. Off social media, there is very little written about Irish feminism, particularly the modern movement. Meetings don't help rural learners.
'Get out and meet people' doesn't help those with restricted mobility or those who live in villages & towns without like-minded types or transport out of there.
Not expecting anyone to exhaust themselves teaching others, but a little nudging towards good learning could help bring more in.
Gonna post some resources here. If you have knowledge of good, intersectional, Irish-focused or otherwise relevant resources, please add. If you see something posted that's problematic, please inform & suggest better.
Start by following @DW_Ireland, and their blog: disabledwomenireland.org
Also Disabled People of Ireland : dpoi.ie
Irish disability rights activists & orgs
Missing loads here, tag yourself if you can contribute.
Plugging my place of work, but NUIG CDLP works on disability law & policy, ran a summer school this year on Intersectionality, all the resources are online in accessible formats. nuigalway.ie/centre-disabil…
I messed up the thread. More disability rights information for Irish feminists below.
Academics and activists weigh in here:
Disability rights & Irish feminism (cont)
@emmaqburns (the other me)

I know many more but for your sake won't tag you in if you don't volunteer or aren't nominated.
Thanks @sharmander_says for this thread on why we should reject the symbolism of pink pussy hats. Others have posted links too, but Sharon talks about not only the problem of the symbol itself, but also her learning process and it's very helpful.
I'm going to end up restructuring this later as more people come on board, apologies if it's a bit chaotic.
Ireland has a problem with racism. Irish feminists need to concern ourselves with this, challenge existing societal structures and our own internalised racisms. Linking to representative groups for migrants, Travellers, people of colour. I'm outside my lane here, appreciate help.
Irish feminism & racism:
@merj_ireland are incredible activists, were particularly harmed by discourse during #RepealThe8th. Support, listen, be led by them and their members.
Racism/migrant rights
Again, I'm only adding individuals' handles as they join or are nominated. Pls add more!
