#StolenValor thread time. Disclaimer: All military information other than PII can be FOIA'ed by anyone in the United States without the person's permission. There is no privacy being revealed here. This was given to us by the Department of the Navy via FOIA.
A while ago, I came across a duo that was talking about something I don't recall what. In it, one of them I noticed that was making extravagant claims. So I started doing research on him and found his name. Then we submitted the FOIA on him. #stolenvalor
The claims were: Marine, 85-89, 1st Recon OR 1st CEB, MOS 0311, airborne trained / scuba trained, forward observer with 1st recon, combat veteran, 4 tours, Gulf War, "2nd Gulf War", Afghanistan, Gunnery Sergeant, jump wings in 87, Korea for "Winter Mountain Warfare" #stolenvalor
Turns out that three things on that list are true: That he was a marine from 85-89 and he was with the 1st Combat Engineers Battalion as a 1345 / Engineer Equipment Operator. #stolenvalor
He earned the Good Conduct Metal, a Letter of Appreciation, a Navy Unit Commendation, a Rifle Badge. #stolenvalor
Last of all, he was discharged as an E-3 after only 3 and half years as the above chart indicates. #stolenvalor
So no, he never saw combat, he didn't earn any jump wings, he was just a a marine operating a forklift. Some commented to me that the fact he didn't make E-4 during his first stint means he was "a total shitbag". #stolenvalor
FYI, if you want to follow more of these outtings, send me a follow. We are still working non-stop to try and expose fakers / embellishers.
I recently swapped accounts. I'm back on my main (@Kaitain_FL) after it got out of shadow "semi-suspension" status (not QFD). So go ahead and send me a follow to this account if you are already following @Kaitain_FL1
