The main point I’m focusing on in my book is that we can learn about God through black girls’ realities and lives. This is a notion often rejected. The idea that we can learn about God through a young black girl?
One thing I’m noticing is that when it comes to the black experience in general, the idea that one can be “taught” anything from the black experience is rejected by white supremacy.
The underlying sentiment is, the audacity of Colin Kaepernick to teach America anything about protest.
The underlying sentiment of the #socialjusticestatement is, the audacity of these people to teach us anything about the nature of Jesus and the gospel.
These things are essentially designed to be taught the other way around.
The uprising and discomfort comes when the oppressed become the teacher of the oppressor.
