States would compete as Block Producers to earn block rewards.
Dept's will be created in every state from California to New York to build, upgrade, and maintain infrastructure for an EOS.IO fork.
If a state fails to produce blocks, they don't get inflation $
IRS or DMV (or a new dept) would be responsible for on-boarding new users after verifying their identity in person.
Your birth certificate, fingerprints, photo, etc. will all be on-chain.
Some of it public, but most of it private and verifiable.
Voting would be tied to your provably true identity and stored on-chain.
You could vote, from your house or on your phone, on any referendum, proposition, or president... at any given time.
You could keep your votes secret, but they would still be countable and verifiable.
Your earnings will be published on-chain by the company you work for.
It will be accessible to both you and the IRS via a multisig contract.
Encrypted. No one else can view the contents.
Taxes are still complicated, of course.
However, the IRS provides an estimation of what you owe (or what you're owed) whenever you want to know it.
Previously, most of that information was only available as W2s/1099s/CapGains at the end of the year. Now it's all on-chain.
If you like the idea of a fully transparent government, big or small, that moves way faster than anything we have currently, this could be one way it gets done.
Chances are basically 0% that this happens ... but maybe it could.
Commence critique.
