1) @POTUS interested in prison reform. Careful, decriminalization & reformation is complex.

Prison = cesspool of new "friends," connections & learning new ways to commit crime.

Unfortunately, limiting recidivism = limiting contact w/ other criminals.

2) Decriminalization is often admitting you can't cope with the problem.

This encourages more criminality. Does Singapore have this problem? No.

3) Hardcore temporary investment in incarceration with an emphasis on limiting the ability for criminals to form their own "Lord of the Flies" networks.

The way it happens today is extremely destructive.

4) There is a way here to pay a debt to society AND avoid the disgusting indignant prison cultures in this country.

Watch one of dozens of prison documentaries, pay close attention to the subtle interactions between prisoners.

5) If you want to promote depravity & debauchery, by all means, hole a bunch of sociopaths in common spaces so they reinforce each other's behavior & encourage more of the same.

Recidivism is almost guaranteed. Separate the sociopaths, much of the problem gets solved.
