New thread: A compendium of GOP wake-up calls!
1. We start off back on Oct. 26, 2017:

“[GOP Rep. Tom] Cole said that some members needed to wake up and realize they face tough reelection fights and that he expected GOP leaders to try to push them to get moving.” talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/congression…
2. 11/8/17, after #VAGov and #NJGov:

“Voters are taking their anger out at the president, and the only way they can do that is by going after Republicans on the ballot,” said Rep. Charlie Dent, R-Pa. “If this isn’t a wake-up call, I don’t know what is.” seattletimes.com/nation-world/i…

Trump & the aura of denial:

1. On Roy Moore: "He denies it. Look, he denies it. If you look at all the things that have happened over the last 48 hours. He totally denies it. He says it didn't happen. And look, you have to look at him also."

cnn.com/2017/12/04/pol…
2. Trump on Rob Porter: “Now he also, as you probably know, he says he’s innocent. And I think you have to remember that. He said very strongly yesterday that he’s innocent. So you’ll have to talk to him about that."

vox.com/2018/2/9/16996…
3. Trump on Jim Jordan: "I don't believe them at all. I believe him. Jim Jordan is one of the most outstanding people I've met since I've been in Washington. I believe him 100%. No question in my mind. I believe Jim Jordan 100%. He's an outstanding man."

This is nuts:

In April, Oklahoma state Rep. Kevin McDugle (R) said he wouldn't vote for "another stinking measure" for education funding after he became upset at teacher protests.

His GOP opponent *suspended his campaign* a month ago b/c he got a new job. Here was the result:
Note that McDugle still could lose, as additional provisional ballots are scheduled to be counted on Friday! newsok.com/article/559951…
"Go ahead, be pissed at me."

Be careful what you wish for!

I wouldn't be surprised to see some not-insignificant primary carnage in Oklahoma tonight, a state wracked by budget dysfunction under GOP rule. I'm counting 10 state legislative incumbents currently trailing their primary challengers there: nytimes.com/interactive/20…
I count six Oklahoma GOP incumbents who outright lost their seats in primaries tonight: #SD40 (Yen), #HD33 (Babinec), #HD37 (Vaughan), #HD65 (Park), #HD67 (McEachin), #HD69 (Strohn).

At least another *11* have been forced into runoff elections: ok.gov/elections/supp…
On top of all this, one Oklahoma Republican incumbent, #HD12's Kevin Dugle, currently leads his challenger by just 4 votes with 17/18 precincts reporting: ok.gov/elections/supp…

Polls have closed in Wisconsin. I wouldn't expect any results right away, but see the below thread for important resources you'll need to properly track the results for the #SD01 and #AD42 special elections.
It's very early in WI #SD01, but Democart @CalebFrostman is carrying Calumet County by 54.4-45.6. Trump carried this same area by 56-39 in 2016: co.calumet.wi.us/DocumentCenter…
Door County in WI #SD01 went huge for Democrat Caleb Frostman, by a 63-37 margin. Trump carried this part of #SD01 by 49-46 in 2016. co.door.wi.gov/docview.asp?do…

Reminder: It's easy to lose track of these D vs. R state leg special elections amid the hubbub of bigger ticket primaries, but both of these Wisconsin races are well worth watching tonight. 🔽🔽
If you're wanting to follow the returns in WI #SD01 or #AD42 tonight, don't expect to easily find a centralized official resource for results. The state of Wisconsin does not offer special election results on their website, so you've gotta check each individual county site.
But don't worry –– I've got you covered with Wisconsin results links tonight. I'll post links in this thread for both #SD01 and #AD42.
