It's the usual narrative shifting/both sides bullshit routine we've watched play out over & over since 2015.

Because we now know that Republican #SCOTUS nominee #BrettKavanaugh has almost certainly committed perjury multiple times.

What to do?

Well, if you're part of the evil fucking Republican Party cabal that has been playing footsie with #Russia and accepting money laundered donations via the @NRA you would want to draw some heat away from your guy. Right?

How?

Two words: Hillary Clinton.

No one has more reliably distracted the media from the real story for Republicans more than @HillaryClinton.

She is literally the goose who lays the golden egg for Republicans.

What are the best ways Republicans have found to get themselves out of the hot seat?

So, let's trot Ken Starr out to remind everyone not to forget that Hillary Clinton exists, and that she's a more evil liar than all their evil liars combined.

Because that literally works every damn time.

I found his wording interesting.

I bet you did Kenny.

You WANTED to charge Hillary Clinton with a lot of things. It was one of the goals of that entire farce afterall.

But he didn't because he couldn't, or else he goddamned sure as hell would have.

Excuse my reliance on "swears" to get my point across, but when you've been in this exact moment so many times that you begin to wonder if you're now actually groundhogging your through life it can get exhausting.

And exasperating.

Everytime a Republican operative turns and points at @HillaryClinton and even a single head (let alone half the adults in the room) turns to look I seriously want to hurt things.

It's something beyond insane at this point.

But they do, and they will.

Because at enough water coolers across the nation instead of "Ken Starr personally despised Hillary Clinton & looked for any way to bring her to heel, including perjury, but couldn't," it becomes "Hillary Clinton committed perjury, and they need to lock that lying bitch up."

And at enough others it becomes something even more sinister. "Who cares if he lied? They all lie. Hillary Clinton lied and no one kept her from doing shit later on. And you know why right? Because she's a fuckling woman and Starr didn't want to look sexist."

That is exactly how it goes down every single time. And for those of us actually paying attention it can get exasperating.

But this particular nugget has an extra layer of toxicity that renders it even more foul.

It's not a coincidence that Ken Starr is doing this NOW?

Playing connect the dots w/ these things is always a trip. But this really goes back to the many layered investigation Starr conducted of the Clinton's (and virtually everyone they ever knew) back in the mid-90s.

It's no secret that Starr disliked the Clintons intensely.

But his dislike of @HillaryClinton burned particularly bright.

A dislike that was apparently shared by a young conservative rising star on Starr's team, #BrettKavanaugh.

According to David Brock he once witnessed #Kavanaugh mouth "lying bitch" as they watched a nightly news report together that included footage of Hillary Clinton.

Kavanaugh would eventually help write the infamous and very expensive paperweight known as the Starr Report.

That report was infamous for its "if only..." and "we believe" and "we almost had 'em elements," of which it was rife.

The Clinton's will always be the ones who got away with "it" for both Starr and Kavanaugh.

Which probably made the fact that @HillaryClinton has been so relentlessly opposed to the Kavanaugh appointment even more irksome for both.

So, if you need a distraction why not kill several birds with a single stone and adopt Trumpian law #4:

Accuse Hillary of everything.

I can actually see the smirk cross Starr's face as he first contemplated the idea.

If you can't get them with facts, then getting them with innuendo twenty years later will seem almost as good.
