Prosecutors file new charging document against ex-@realDonaldTrump campaign chairman @PaulManafort, signaling a possible plea deal, reports @AP.
A guilty plea to charges in his second trial (which was to be held in Washington, DC) is to be entered today by @PaulManafort, according to media reports.
According to the filing, @PaulManafort will enter a guilty plea to a single count of conspiracy to obstruct justice.
He will also plead guilty to one count of conspiracy against the US.
Federal prosecutors dropping five other money laundering charges and lobbying disclosure law violations against @PaulManafort.
In plea deal, @PaulManafort to cooperate with prosecutors, according to the US government officials.
Federal prosecutors say under plea agreement charges in DC, Virginia cases against @PaulManafort will be dropped at the time of his sentencing or completion of cooperation.
As part of deal with prosecutors, US government will seize four @PaulManafort properties, including a ~$2 million house in Arlington, #Virginia. He will also forfeit four financial accounts and a life insurance policy.
"This had absolutely nothing to do with the president or his victorious 2016 presidential campaign," @WhiteHouse official says in response to @PaulManafort plea deal.

He has accepted responsibility "for conduct that dates back many years," says @PaulManafort attorney Kevin Downing.
"Manafort may provide important information and insight into the Trump campaign’s links to and possible cooperation with Russia," says @RepAdamSchiff. "I would also hope that his cooperation includes testifying before congressional committees."

“The New York Times’s story is inaccurate and factually incorrect,” Rosenstein said in a statement. “Based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment.”
