Pre-Anita it wasn’t fashionable to watch Senate confirmation hearings. Because Supreme Court Clarence Thomas’s inappropriate sexual habits were/are so disgusting everyone tuned in. Getting a chance to be one of Thomases “he didn’t rape me” defenders was a hot ticket.

Racist Republicans pretended to be “not racist” and on the side of Clarence Thomas because defending rapists and restricting abortion will make a white supremacist set aside race in singular instances.
Racist Republicans were so hep on having “a conservative black person” that they lied abou clear evidence and every obvious sign that Clarence Thomas was unfit for the court and so he remains creepily silent and unfit to this day.
