1. Today we launch @IndiaPrideProj’s most ambitious effort till date – to #BringOurGodsHome from the UK… (Please read the thread below).

2. So far, 5 countries’ governments have returned our heritage (USA, Canada, Germany, Singapore & Australia). However, UK seems reticent about our murtis and heritage that were forcibly taken away.

3. Phase A of this effort involves going into British Museums and capturing Indian heritage that should come back (with a silent protest).

4. In Phase B, selected British MPs will be approached by our volunteers. We are focusing on (i) MPs that represent high-density NRI/PIO constituencies; (ii) Pro-India, morally upright, MPs.

5. We are hopeful these UK parliamentarians would not offend an ethnic minority’s sentiments who want to see their heritage go back home.

6. Thankfully, UK has a precedent. France recently announced it would return colonial-era heritage back to African nations.

7. Christopher #Hitchens, #GeorgeClooney, Bill Murray, @stephenfry and numerous celebrities and intellectuals have made the case for Britain to repatriate heritage.

8. The @washingtonpost’s Global Opinions Editor @KarenAttiah recently wrote a fascinating piece on India and China’s re-emergence as superpowers; and how its emboldening us to reclaim our heritage.

9. Various publications/newspapers have reported on British Museums’ dilemma, of stoking and reproducing colonialist narratives; esp post #Brexit with UK's dwindling influence on the world.
