I have to share this short story:
Last night I'd just gotten home from an exhausting 4 day biz trip. I'd barely slept. And b/c I'm training for a half marathon, I was exhausted from an intense set of workouts.
I opened my bag to take out my laptop—but it was gone. GONE.😳

My laptop is my weapon of choice to combat ignorance, extremism, bigotry, & write my par excellence dad jokes.
And now, it was gone. Poof. Vanished. At first I thought—maybe it's just in my car, so I checked...but...

No luck. The laptop wasn't in my car.
And then it hit me like a ton of bricks. I'd taken out my laptop mid-flight to work on a paper on the persecution of Ahmadi Muslims in Indonesia—and the flight attended asked me to stow it away for takeoff.
I had that sinking feeling

I'd left my laptop on the plane🤦🏾♂️
I was home now.
The plane was gone.
My laptop has no address on it. No name. Nothing.
And the Apple location finder only works if the laptop is connected to WiFi, which it couldn't while locked
I sat there thinking to myself...

I called Dulles. Nothing.
I called my airline. Nothing.
Then I'd DM my airline @united
They responded pretty quickly & had me fill out a "Lost & Found" form.
I prayed & asked my friends to pray.
Then I DM'd United like 10 more times to ask if they had any news. Nothing

Lo & Behold...about an hour ago I got an email from @United.
They Found My Laptop! All within 24 hours!
They have an employee with initials KL who kept me in the loop & really went out of their way to track this down.
They even offered to ship it to my house! Cool right?

So anyway, I often rant about injustices, but sharing good stories is important for our health too
In the grand scheme this isn't but a blip—but it's the little blips that make the big differences
