1/ I’ve been pondering why (on earth) #DrChristineBlaseyFord would prefer to be asked questions directly from senators.
I now think the answer is quite straightforward, self-aware & brilliant.
2/ The only thing that can be shown in a hearing without an investigation is credibility.
If an outside party, male or female, lawyer or staffer, leads the questioning—
@GOP senators can (& likely would) say that their questions were not asked or answered appropriately.
3/ A 3rd-party allows Senators to discredit #DrBlasey indirectly
It would give them a free pass to dismiss her testimony
While claiming that they did the right
thing by allowing (😤) her to speak to a 3rd party instead
4/ THAT leaves the singular opportunity for her to be seen as credible—as the one where she speaks to the senators directly;
just as #AnitaHill so boldly did
It does several things:
—It puts the responsibility on senate to ask the questions they believe are relevant; no excuses
5/ —It puts senators under the microscope in their ability & willingness to treat her with respect
—It shows how serious she is & demands they take her seriously
—It shows that she is being truthful, honest & direct in her testimony
6/ —It shows her willingness to cooperate & respects the senators
—It removes any claims that she is shielding herself from the truth or attempting to hide information
—It puts her on THE SAME LEVEL as #Kavanaugh—doing *exactly* what he was just so overwhelmingly praised for
7/ In sum, direct testimony to the Senate defies any doubts about her personal character, her strength as a person & lowered expectations for women in general.
#DrChristineBlaseyFord is a HERO.
Even if she stumbles over words;
Her presence will speak loud, boldly & in volumes.

This entire story deserves to be threaded & tagged. In posting, my focus is not to dwell on the past but look at #Today with critical #EyesOpen. It’s a reminder to #Vote and act for the #betterfuture of our country.
1/ Former Republican @MaxBoot spent eight years trying to stop Obama as an aide to both @SenJohnMcCain McCain and @MittRomney and as a longtime conservative columnist.
Boot, who is now a columnist for the @washingtonpost was never a Trump fan
2/ but he did write a column the day after the election in which he argued that a @realDonaldTrump presidency “might not be so bad” and encouraged optimism.
Now, in a new piece for the Post, Boot is prepared to say that, actually, it is that bad.
