The correlation between The Crucible by Arthur Miller and what is happening with the #KavanaughHearing today is undeniable:

We begin with Abigail Williams. She is the clear villain of the play. She accuses those who she believes have wronged her and her single motivation is jealousy and power. She is manipulative and has no regard for her actions. She uses those in power to get what she wants:

Accusing those in the village. Those accused have two options, to be hanged or to admit that they are guilty. Abigail knows this.

Abigail Williams represents the Democrats who wish to bring down Kavanaugh with whatever they can...

Next, we have Danforth. He believes the court is fair and that Judge Hathorne is guided by God so there is only just and fair trials. Because of this, he fails to examine evidence or to act accordingly to stop the hysteria that plagues Salem.

Danforth represents Senator Flake.

John Proctor is accused of witchcraft. He is an honest, good man. With Proctor’s connection to Abigail, he realizes he can reveal the truth about Abigail and her false accusations and her reasons for doing so but is stopped because it would ruin his good name...

And when Proctor is accused of witchcraft, he refuses to give up his personal integrity and confess to a false accusation.

John Proctor represents Judge Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh is unable to call out the Democrats with such force and honesty because according to some, it would...

...reflect badly on his temper and ability to remain level-headed on the Supreme Court. It seems that no matter the outcome, Kavanaugh is doomed either way.

...#KavanaughHearing is blinding. The #BelieveWomen trend is perpetuating the idea of those accused are guilty, with or without evidence.

This quote from the Crucible perfectly sums up what is happening today with #Kavanaugh:

"In an ordinary crime, how does one defend the accused? One calls up witnesses to prove his innocence. But witchcraft is ipso facto, on its face and by its nature, an invisible crime, is it not? Therefore, who may possibly be witness to it? The witch and the victim...
