I do not believe corrupt governments are multi generation conspiracies, but simply short time preference thugs.

Try to free a single child from being chemically lobotomized and the wrath of the state pours down upon you.

But try to prevent 100,000 in 5 years and they don’t care

Try to prevent 5 people from being extorted through income taxation or money printing today and they come after you like e-gold or Cody Wilson.

Try to eliminate money printing globally and create an electronic cash that makes taxation infinitely more difficult in 10 years and 😬

This is great one of the advantages of the #cypherpunk strategy over politics.

Fight where the enemy is weak or disinterested.

Build tools that will change the landscape in the near future.

Don’t try to get power through propaganda in the immediate future.

Politicians are maters of propaganda. Masters of political power and connections with other politicians. Masters of the use of meat space violence mediated through bureaucracy. Masters of the short term and short lived “change.” Masters of dumb money and dumb voters.

So focus on tools and technology. Economic power. Working in cyberspace. Invest in multigenerational changes by empowering your children.

Be content to live primarily in the future as fools feast in the present. Tomorrow they starve and we enjoy the spoils of victory and wisdom

Don’t be afraid to run and hide today. Standing in front of a tank unarmed may seem brave, but it’s foolish despair.

I’m glad that man is a dangerous animal and poorly designed for slavery. I’m glad that if you push us too far we fight back like wild maniacs.

The fear of our nature, the fear of what happens when our overloaded treat us too badly gives us room to breathe and work and live,

But don’t believe then when they hold up as an example of effective resistance the people that snap.

They are happy to fight the people that lack wisdom and self control either through stupidity or desperation.

Don’t fall for that trap. Don’t idolize the rebellion without strategy.

Fight smart. Become powerful. Hide in the digital caves until the dragons have starved to death.

Yes, I’m suggesting you should enjoy your dinner, tickle your children and comfort your wife to the sounds of dragons devouring the innocent just outside your cave.

But then the wake up early and labor to invent an arrow that flies farther or a chemical that burns faster.

Fighting the dragons with a slingshot might make you feel like a hero instead of a cowering tinkerer, but it’s the bread of fools.

Don’t work 20 hour weeks and lounge to the cries of the innocent. Work hard. Don’t retire young. Stretch your mind. Labor deeply.

Work, really work, 50 hour weeks. Raise your own children with the help of your wife.

If you have a job that only requires 30 hours of real work develop your skills instead of screwing around for the other 20.

If your not yet married work 60.

Use the sounds of the suffering innocent to bring meaning and value to your work and life.

Enjoy your crust if bread in peace knowing you are doing everything you can with your meat computer to rescue them without burning it out.

When you rest know it’s productive rest.

In this way you can enjoy life. It’s joyous to matter. It feels good to labor on behalf of others.

And when we have finally invented gunpowder we won’t even need to shoot the dragons.

They will transform into productive shoemakers and farmers before our eyes.

Because they are not crazy they are calculating.

Once its unprofitable to devour the flesh of children. Once it’s simply too risky to be worth it to them they will no longer try.
