A thread of what #DACA is and isn't because #DACA works and it is nothing close to a "free ride."
#DACA is a workers permit. It is not a way to go to college. We still do not qualify for federal aid (FAFSA/Pell grants/student loans)
DACAmented folks PAY taxes. We (all undocumented imm) even add to Social Security taxes & don't see any of it.
#DACA is not a free education. Undocu families like mine pay taxes on their homes/jobs & we pay our schooling or get private scholarships
#DACA is NOT a pathway to citizenship but temporary relief, one that is under attack. #DefendDACA because its helped 800,000 immigrants
There is currently NO pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants like me. & no we do not "choose" to be undocumented.
There is no "line" outside of the White House where we wait for citizenship. #DefendDACA until there's comprehensive reform #DREAMAct
Neither #DACA nor the #DREAMAct is "amnesty" we go thru comprehensive background checks & requirements to even be considered
#SaveDACA because even with all the setbacks & obstacles 800,000 undocumented young people like me have moved forward.
95% of us are currently working or in school. #DACA is a program that we must defend & extend. @DefineAmerican

It's still hard to believe that the #DACA program ended today, and that there is still no concrete legislation passed for 800,000 of us.
you know something, DACA really changed things. Not only for 800,000 of us, but for our families & communities. For me it came my senior yr
You cant undo our work as DACA recipients. You cant take back our education. You cant unsee our stories of triumph and struggles #HereToStay

Y'all ready for a "did you know?" thread about undocumented immigrants? Well sit down & you'll see how it's not as simple as people think
Did you know there are over 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the US? This is also not by chance but b/c of broken policies
Did you know that 42% came legally and over stayed their visas? Did you know that in 2015 Canada had the highest number of overstayed Visas?
