My anger about this today comes from a comment a Black woman made to me about how annoyed she is that the Obama girls "act white."

Full disclosure: this type of comment really bothers me because I've been told for most of my life that I "act/talk white."

First of all, as a 36-year-old woman, why are you talking shit about teenage girls?!! Insecure much? #ItsNotCute

Secondly, I shouldn't have 2 say this after all we've been thru but if you're Black, you're Black It doesn't matter what you sound/act like.

Furthermore, if anyone is confused about the race of the Obama girls or myself, non-Black ppl and the police can quickly answer that for you

If the police kill me, will I be Black enough for you then?

Black ppl are quick 2 tell non-Black ppl we're not a monolith but as soon as u step outside the box of "authentic Blackness" ur acting white

At the end of the day, we belong 2 each other. So let's support and protect each other no matter how we choose to speak or express ourselves

Because if we don't, no one else is gonna do it for us. #rantover
