While UT fought #opioid epidemic, @SenOrrinHatch enabled it from DC. Here’s why it's personal for me. 1/11 #utpol
washingtonpost.com/graphics/2017/…
This isn't the first time @SenOrrinHatch has played politics with Americans' health, especially in Utah. 2/11
In 2016, @SenOrrinHatch, who received almost $180K in drug industry donations, led the way in hobbling the DEA's 3/11
ability to crack down on distribution of prescription opioids, further fueling deadliest the drug epidemic in our country today. 4/11
made it easier for medical providers to overprescribe opioids--& now, over 200K American lives are on his conscience. 5/11
This is so personal for me. For the last 2 years, I've led efforts to combat the explosion of #opioids in Salt Lake County, as well as 6/11
chairing a bipartisan task force on the County Council. I know firsthand the havoc that the #opioid crisis is inflicting throughout UT. 7/11
It's a deep betrayal to learn that as we fought this community challenge on the ground, @SenOrrinHatch was working against us from DC-- 8/11
obeying his donors and pulling strings to flood our streets with the very drugs that are causing this epidemic. 9/11
I won't stand for it. It's time we had someone in Washington who actually cares about the lives he's representing. 10/11
I'm ready to fight for what Utah families really need, & to understand the problems you really face. Join me: bit.ly/2w4C4Ac

Yesterday was Day 60 w/o #CHIP reauthorization. Today, I'll share a very personal story about my own child’s healthcare journey--a journey impossible without insurance, & one which shaped my determination that all kids receive quality healthcare. 1/12

In 2002, our 6-month-old son, Zach, received a terrifying diagnosis. After a few months of unexplained wheezing and difficulty breathing, he was finally diagnosed with a rare cardiothoracic disorder that required open-heart surgery. 2/12
Looking back 15 years, I still tear up recalling the fear my husband and I felt when we learned of the magnitude of Zach’s condition, and as we faced a rough 10 days of uncertainty. 3/12
