Honestly, it's just six panels, but it's like a peeling an onion.

There's layers here enough to keep a psychiatrist busy for *days.*

This is actually a great jumping off point for a thread I wanted to do on entitlement and how that plays into all this, but that'll keep.

For now, let's just point out the main idea of this strip isn't that changes are alienating fans, and it lumps in ppl who say that with...

...the folks who are angry at changes that are happening that don't meet their narrow idea of what is politically correct.

Look at this strip again. The problem isn't just changes. It's *specific* changes:
- Black heroes
- Gay heroes
- Female heroes being "ugly"

It's no accident that this came from Vox Day or that he latched onto Sad Puppies, GamerGate, & now Comicgate. He's fighting a culture war.

He goes where it takes him, & he goes where he can make a quick $$$. Hence, Alt-Hero beating up Hispanics while wearing Confederate symbols.

This is why the idea that people opposed to #comicsgate are calling *all* the fans bigots grates so much. I take pains specifically not to.

But then some piece of shit bigot like Day rolls up, sees an opportunity to cash in and knows he can hide his bigotry in your complaints.

He--and others--can cloak their far right/racist culture war shit in *your* reasonable sounding complaints about too much change too fast.

Then they can launch a patreon (or a far-right knock off in Day's case) and watch the money roll in and laugh all the way to the bank.

Vox Day got $244k for Alt-Hero so far. But only 2100 backers. How does 2100 sound, if we're using sales/reader numbers to judge quality?

Hell, Chuck Dixon *paid* $200 bucks to support a book he then wound up signing on to write for!

If this doesn't reek of con job to you, I don't know what to tell you. But if I were someone legit upset by Marvel's direction...

...I'd want to get as much space btw me and the overt bigots and alt-right nazis as possible. I wouldn't want anyone confusing who is who.
