Apparently, I’m about to weed a lot of new followers out on day 1, so let’s just get this out of the way right now.

1) You are following my personal account. I talk about what I want here. You do not get to dictate or police that.

I tweet about politics, cocktails, terrible jokes, feminism, inclusion, puppies, and yes, STEM.

2) If you don’t want my personal thoughts and just want #STEM stuff, GOOD NEWS! I have a #scicomm account you can follow! It’s @TheSTEMulus.

Over there, I only tweet about #scicomm, #STEM, and what’s going on with my YouTube channel (which you should definitely subscribe to).

3) Things I don’t tolerate: bigotry of any kind, threats, bots, mansplaining, sexual harassment, and Star Wars slander.

Any of those things will get you blocked/muted and/or reported.

That being said, if you’re still here, WELCOME. I curse, I tell bad jokes, I geek out, & I am thrilled to have you as part of this family.

I am super proud of the community that has grown around the STEMulus over the last two years, and I am always happy to have new members.

You don’t necessarily have to love science to be a part of it, but you do have to treat everyone in it with respect.
