We need to talk abt #RoyMoore "#Romanticallypursuing" a 14 year old.
There's a name for that it's called #grooming.

4 women have come forward to accuse Roy Moore of grooming and at the very least statutory raping them.

What are AL GOP members already doing? Well beside victimblaming they are trying to use the BIBLE to justify abusing teens.
Ask me again why women in the bible belt would wait 20 years to tell?

Let's get back to why there's nothing romantic abt grooming.
Grooming SEEMS romantic it's suppose to, it's an abuse of power and it's inherently meant to give the abuser power & access to the victim

abusers will love bomb a teen who has a shitty family, is insecure or just generally has issues they can use to exploit as a way to get close. They will be there to fill that hole for the victim that is until they want more, a lot more.

It is insidiously dishonest to call a 32 yr old man preying on a 14 yr old CHILD in any way romantic or starting a sexual relationship. IT'S RAPE.
If you had asked 14 yr old me I wld have told you no way it's not rape.

14 year old me and 17 year old and even 18 year old me often didn't see when predators were coming for me and trust me they came.
They can smell a potential victim

I wld have defended my abuse as not abuse in fact I defended my middle daughter's father who met me when I was 16 and he was a juvenile detective. Had his first contact with at 17 and a full on affair at 18.
I thought it didn't count because I was a married minor

Abusers tell you that you're special that they don't even understand why they like someone so young. All kinds of bullshit.
It's manipulative trash. Roy Moore is the worst abuser too bcuz I bet $$ he used God too.

I thought I was smart and special bcuz grown men wanted to date me.

It isn't just #RoyMoore's standing in politics that has kept his victims quiet for years I know in my soul that it's religion.
They are already blaming the girls. Why did they tempt him? He was single and just "fell into sin". We all need to have grace & forgive".

Beyond the constant drumbeat of purity in religious communities which teaches us we are no longer valuable once a man like #RoyMoore has used us & thrown us away. There is the evangelical patriarchy that will stand w/ the predator always.

They are the ones concerned w/ if the victim "liked it" or "why did she wait so long" and finding biblical justifications. They are the ones who will say it was so long ago these women should pray to find forgiveness in their hearts.

These are the things that keep women silent y'all. Please remember that.
