Already back in Sep’16, Japan sent a very clear message to the UK on its future post-Brexit - with requests on customs, rules of origin, regulations, financial passport, immigration, the works.
Mentions importance of EU FTAs. Calls for keeping EMA’s location. Asks for liberalisation of immigration, access to EU R&D budget, and +.

3. Despite your cheerful tone, many of us don’t feel our rights are secure, as @cliodiaspora rightly puts it. And we still have to apply to secure them, meaning we can be rejected (with scarily high % of errors at the Home Office, as you know). theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
