* The Modi government has asked builders not to charge any GST from home buyers as the effective GST rate on almost all affordable housing project is 8 per cent which can be adjusted against the input credit.
* Digital transactions rose 4.73% to 1.11 billion in January from 1.06 billion in December. The transactions were worth about Rs 131.95 trillion.
* Cabinet clears PM Research Fellowships (PMRF) for students of higher education institutions. The PMRF includes monthly scholarships of Rs 70,000 to Rs 80,000 and annual research grants of Rs 2 lakh for select scholars.
* This is just another one answer for those who ask, "What does bullet train give India?"

🔸Further benefit for the poor and middle class.
🔹Beti Bachao Beti Padhao is another one of Prime Minister Modi's widely talked of yojanas, and it is ushering in change quietly — Infant Mortality Rate has fallen by a significant 8%.
🔸Indian Railways will launch Jan Aushadhi stores and sanitary pad vending machines at about 7,000 railway stations. Around 20,000 porters along with their families will also be provided subsidised healthcare.
Absolutely brilliant!
🔹Over 170 contracts were signed in defence procurement in the last 4 years of which 120 were with Indian vendors.

🔸Value of mobile wallet transactions in India grew from Rs 24 bn in 2013 to Rs 955 bn in 2017 and are slated to go past the Rs 1 trillion-mark in early 2018. Indians are adopting mobile wallets faster the US and the UK.
🔹The cancelation of almost 3 crore fake ration cards has led to savings of Rs 17,000 crore.
🔸This is the Indo-Israel Center of Excellence for fruit in Lunglei, Mizoram. This is the first such project in the North East.
🔹Piyush Goyal is exploring the possibility of facilitating manufacturing units for cheap and bio-degradable sanitary pads at 8,000 railway stations.
🔸"Earlier, it was bullet for bullet," says a general in the Northern Command. "Now, it is a hundred rounds for every round he fires."
#WhyModiIn2019 #SecuringIndia…
🔹The Modi government will launch affordable sanitary napkins which will be available for Rs 2.50 per pad at over 3,200 Janaushadhi Kendras across India by 28 May, 2018 which is also the World Menstrual Hygiene Day.
🔸LPG coverage has risen from around 56% three years back to a staggering 79.2%.
🔹'Make in India' is not a fantasy. Here's India's first indigenous howitzer.
🔸The Benami Transactions Act came into force on 5 September 1988, but it was powerless. It took 28 years for Narendra Modi to amend the original act and make it a potent weapon in fighting corruption. Why Congress couldn't do this, is anyone's guess.
🔹Another example of how 'Make in India' isn't just a slogan.
🔸As is clearly evident, honest and dedicated development spearheaded by women is a focus of the Modi government.
🔹'Make in India' —
DRDO conducted penetration trial of the FSAPDS ammunition for the army's T-72 and T-90 MBTs. The ammunition's capabilities are at par with NATO and Russian. FSAPDS ammunition is the most lethal kinetic energy ammunition.

Went to a SBI Mutual Fund seminar yesterday. They talked of two of their funds — equity hybrid fund and a blue chip fund. The hybrid fund had 50% in large caps and 50% in mid/small cap stocks (and maybe a max of 10% in cash/debt) while the blue chip fund is all large caps.
A very simple understanding of the two in comparative terms —
1) Equity hybrid fund — More risk and expected return due to the 50% in mid and small caps; apt for investors who have tolerance and ability for greater risk
2) Blue chip fund — Less risk thus considered safer
Pic 1: Blue chip fund
Pic 2: Equity hybrid fund

Basic understanding —
Standard deviation: Measure of volatility
Sharpe ratio: Simply the return earned per unit of risk; more the better
Beta: Volatility of stock in comparison to market movement; 1 means stock moves with market

"A prime minister with a golden heart" 😃

A government that listens. Felt like a myth, right? But now, not only does the government listen, but even ACTS. Here are a few incidents when the PMO directly intervened to help the common man, at times even saving lives.

🔹An 8-day-old girl was suffering from a grave medical condition. PM Modi ensured a traffic-free passage for the rescue team who air lifted the child to a hospital. The child was saved.
"He is our God today," said the child's father for PM Modi.
🔸Vaishali Yadav, a class 2 student, needed surgery for a hole in her heart, but her parents couldn't afford it. She wrote to PM Modi and the response was immediate. Her operation was funded by the PMO.
Below is a heartwarming picture of PM Modi with Vaishali.

"Rahul acknowledges that China is the competition" — How cute!
Truth is, the real reason why India so desperately lags behind China is your family.
I'm sure people like you aren't used to facts because you're fed a load of crap, but are some exposing the family.
🔹When India was ahead of China in terms of real GDP per capita (real GDP is one that's adjusted for inflation/deflation) —
* During 1970-1980, India's was $658 while China's was $402 (64% more).
* During 1980-1990, India's was $922 whereas China's was $698 (still 32% more).
🔹Today —
* China's nominal GDP is 4.9 times India's.
* China's GDP on PPP basis is 2.44 times India's.
* China's nominal GDP/capita is 4.64 times India's.
* China's GDP on PPP/capita is 2.31 times India's.

Prime Minister Modi said he'll do in 5 years what wasn't done in 60 years. One of his transformative steps has been to electrify villages/towns.
This thread enumerates the tale of thirteen villages which've seen the sun shine on their fortunes in the true sense.
Place — Elephanta Island
State — Maharashtra
Population — About 1,200
A 7.5 km long undersea cable brought electricity to three villages — Raj Bander, Mora Bander, and Shet Bander.
Village — Batambis
State — Jammu and Kashmir
Population — Around 600
Electrification has become possible with the use of latest cutting-edge technology of DC solar microgrids.

There's a lot of distortion of facts. To add to this many say they'll 'teach' Narendra Modi a lesson in 2019.
With this thread, I attempt to both show the incredible work he's done and also why he's going to win 2019 as a result of unprecedented support from the poor.
🔸Jan Dhan Yojana —
Beneficiaries — 31 crore.
Amount deposited — Rs 73,558 crore.
Impact — Opening of accounts has enabled the poor to become a part of the financial system and with Aadhar attached they're getting subsidies directly from the government in their accounts.
🔹Mudra Yojana —
Beneficiaries — 10.38 crore
Amount disbursed — Rs 4.62 lakh crore
First time loan recipients — 3 crore
Goal for this year — Disburse Rs 3 lakh crore which means another 6.5 crore people can benefit.
Impact — Creating employers instead of just employees.

I'm middle class and here I enumerate what I want from Prime Minister Modi. Rest I can do on my own which makes me a proud Indian and a very happy taxpayer 😃
If you echo my sentiments, then spread this thread!

🔹Provide me safety —
Global Terrorism Index measures the direct & indirect impact of terrorism, including its effects on lives lost, injuries, property damage & psychological effects. India is improving on this since 2014. No terror attacks have occurred in cities.
I'm safer.
🔸 Better roads —
The Modi government has initiated ambitious projects to improve the road quality and connectivity like the Bharatmala project which has been allocated Rs 5.35 lakh crore.
