#Zuma Former ANC President Jacob Zuma has been recalled from office. After a marathon meeting of the NEC that lasted 14 hours, the decision to oust him as head of the republic was taken. It is unconditional sources say.
Zuma last night apparently seemed somewhat defiant, grudgingly shrugging his shoulders at the decision. Zuma has to resign unconditionally or face a motion of no confidence as soon as Wednesday.
A special media briefing will formally communicate the outcome.
Last week Tuesday Zuma told Ramaphosa he didn't mind resigning but there should be some notice... he sold it to him as if a deferred resignation was the best thing for the country.
That was rejected. Now Zuma either writes to Baleka Mbete to resign or a date is set for a motion of no confidence.
It seems the ANC wants the acting president of the republic to be in on Tuesday. And then an acceleration of processes ans "reform", sources say.
