Cultural Trends Emerging Over the Next 5-10 years

The Falling and End of Civilization ?

Or the Return to Civility and Better Times?

2) We think of technology as incredible advancement and progress, but tell, me, who is really an architect of brilliance? Can a human create a flower?

My whole life, have often felt, without any outside confirmation when I was younger ,that I had a unique ability and skill set

3) to predict trends.
This became more apparent to me, when I would see popular trends come to be realized, especially with my earlier background in the high fashion world.

4) After recent conversations, and observations especially on the subject of creative arts, I am forecasting some trends I believe will come into collective consciousness.
The other alternative is too gloomy, and too many sell fear as truth.

5) Im not discounting them at all, just offering a different perspective.

Love him or hate him. I attribute this shift to the election of Donald Trump.

6) I was raised in a middle class, Mid West Democratic family, have never been interested in politics, and I don’t align with either “party” per se. I was taught, however, to always respect the President of the United States, regardless of who it was.

7) If you’ve been around the sun as long as I have, you might have noticed a creep into culture that promotes and advocates the worst qualities of human nature.

8) It is not natural for people to be hateful, cruel, ugly, criminal or to even celebrate and promote expressive arts that condone the same. We fell from grace .

I could go on with countless examples, that point to music, film, art, fashion, there are (sadly) way too many to name.

10) Here is one example of fashion from Yves Saint Laurent from 1980s to 2018. The distinction is stark. And alarming.

The point is, we have lost our basic human nature and our civility. People are angry, confused, misguided.

11) We have high suicide rates and high rates of drug addiction.

I dont think this is why we were put on Earth. Did we disconnect from something external or from something within ourselves?

12) The New Age Movement, which emerged several decades ago, was supposed to restore a more loving aspect of human tolerance, exposed itself recently as nothing more than a hateful, angry, childish mob, filled with charlatans just hocking to make a buck off unhappy souls.

13) There are legitimate people in this industry, but have you noticed how many people have become life coaches in the past decade? You might have noticed that many advocated “complacency and acceptance”. In other words, a society of doormats.

14) Notice how many people are writing about “dealing with toxic people and psychopaths”. This is not accidental.

15) I have enough examples to write a book (should I?) but most noticeably, the most cringe worthy and worst examples of this downward, degraded culture, come most recently portrait of President Obama (and the chosen artist known for his depiction of woman posing ..

16) with decapitated heads of white woman) , to the Gucci decapitated heads as handbags on the Gucci runway. The messaging is strong - whether we abhor it or not, we talk about, It cycles in consciousness. What could the possible effect be?

17) This is what started my desire to look closely and to see where we have been and where hopefully we are going.

18) Who “inspired” who, here ? Is there a connection ?

19) It starts at the top, folks, and is a cycle. Politics drive culture, culture drives politics, street people drive fashion, fashion is driven to the people in the streets.
We have cycled downward culturally for a minimum of 4 decades.

21) We will either hit rock bottom culturally (I expect a short term downward cycle) before we cycle through it and move in the other direction.

That's where Donald Trump comes in.

22) You may loathe him now, I predict you might not love him, but will move away from delusional derangement loathing to a least some civilized respect.
Yes, haters, this one's for you .

23) This will come in the next few years as law and order is restored.
As once who controlled with evil intent, will no longer exist (or to a lesser degree, they will not yield the power they hold today)
As violent criminals are taken off the streets
As crime drops.

24) As people may disagree, but at least they begin to listen to one another without mud slinging and hatred in their hearts.
As we becomes less toxic as a society , so will cultural expression, creativity and and more human authenticity will follow.

25) A return to quality and valued existence.
More value in people, as we will allow people of value to come to our country and respect and love what we stand for.

26) I am forecasting :

More uplifting music, with more love songs and romantic themes
More creativity will emerge, as more will be in touch with their authenticity and freedom to express it (more love, less hate). Art will become (truly) inspired and pretty again.

27) Fashion designers will return to class and elegance
People will stop going out in public looking like they rolled out of bed. We will still be causal, but classy

28) Home decor will continue a stronger trend in using natural elements (this trend is already emerging, I see it getting stronger). More traditional themes will emerge (although they have a modern influence)

29) More woman will no longer desire feminism. They will naturally embrace femininity.
Instead of the intended shoving us all into small cramped urban quarters, more people will choose to live rural.

30) Pride in ownership (whatever you own in the material world) will return. Less disposable, more well crafted products.
Decrease in depression and obesity.

31) The country is being portrayed as out of control (and we may have some time to go as it might get worse) , but eventually I this societal revival and cultural civility is within reach.
People rejected trashy, corrupted politicians

32) They have begun to reject trashy, corrupted culture. Case in point : Hollywood box office, NFL, music that promotes violence, cheap products (all in decline)
They will demand and expect more quality in all aspects of their lives.

33) Companies that are in the service industry will have to hire and train quality people. It will be expected.

34) Just because you don’t see it (the goodness), doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

This is #MAGA existing in our day to day lives, if it thrives, if you thrive.

If this is what you want, you must become a living, breathing part of its existence.

35) Remember, President Trump is the only president (that I can remember in my lifetime) that uses these three words when he speaks to the American people :

‘I Love You”
