Hey guys today SEIU is doing a day of action about the SCOTUS case Janus v. AFSCME. The Supreme Court is almost certainly going to decide against us, they're going to end Fair Share. #werise
Eliminating Fair Share is the first step to eliminating public sector unions, followed by private sector unions, followed by reducing the compensation and benefits of people who have jobs. That's it; there's no moral principle or anything at stake here. #werise
This is about rich people believing that no one should get to have money but them. That's it.
I make 40k a year. I have decent benefits and some vacation time. I have a small pension that I will not possibly be able to live on, assuming it even exists in 30 year. The Koch Brothers believe it's immoral that I'm this well-off, and they want to rearrange the law to end it
The Supreme Court is going to help them. They'll gussy their arguments up in all sorts of ways, but at the end of the day it comes down to: my 40k is too much. My pension is too high. I get too much time off. It's an offense to them that, for the job I do, I'm not in poverty
I don't understand why rich people do this; if I were rich, I'd fuck off to the Caribbean and you'd never here from me again. How the fuck could it make a difference if I were a billionaire or a two billionaire or a ten billionaire? I don't know.
I do know that these shits don't deserve to decide who gets to live and who gets to die, they don't deserve to decide whether or not my son gets enough to eat.
this morning I would like to not be extremely mad about everything so I want to talk about Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and who the real hero of that movie is
it's this guy
his heroism I think is based on three features
1) he is not Captain America, he's just some nerd 2) he knows that he can't really stop the ships from being launched 3) a man has a literal gun to his head
