We are about to instruct a solicitor. We have a top pensions QC lined up to advise us on the issues and the scope for claims against the USS trustees. @ucu #USSstrike
The crowd funding site will be up and running in a couple of days. Pensions law is really complex and the QC we've got lined up is the best of the best. If 5000 can give us £10 each then we'll be good to go. #USSstrike
We're all members of @ucu but this is not a UCU action. We're all striking and actively supporting industrial action. We're doing this as academics and beneficiaries of the USS fund #USSstrike
We can't promise that there'll be a court case. We can't promise that we'll win. We CAN promise that we'll get the best legal advice money can buy and we will use whatever power we have to hold the trustees of USS to account. #USSstrike
We shouldn't have to accept this 'deal' without being sure that ALL the legal issues have been explored and we are SURE that the trustees are actually acting in our interests, which is what they are obligated to do. #USSstrike
