Canada is fast becoming the choice destination for many immigrants to study, visit or live permanently. There are more than 60 immigration programs for foreign nationals interested in coming to Canada.

QUESTION ONE: How do I know if I'm eligible to immigrate to Canada as a Permanent Resident.
Answer: There are three separate programs under Express Entry. You must first determine the one you are eligible for. Details available at bit.ly/2CbIQrT
The Express Entry system is an umbrella body for economic/skilled immigrants to immigrate to Canada. Economic/skilled immigrants are foreign nationals who are well educated, have skilled work experience from home or in Canada, have official language ability,etc #ImmigrationCorner
The Express Entry which started in 2015 as a point-based system, thus accepts applications from interested skilled/economic immigrants in 3 categories of Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Federal Skilled Trades (FST) & Canadian Experience Class (CEC) programs. #ImmigrationCorner
In summary, FSW is for applicants with work experience OUTSIDE Canada, FST is for applicants with experience in 6 selected trades (details here bit.ly/2EuWtGo) & CEC is for applicants with work experience in Canada. #ImmigrationCorner
Foreign nationals who are applying for permanent residence in Canada & using a skilled work experience from another country may be eligible for the FSW, if they score at least 67/100 in the six selection factors. Details available at bit.ly/2iGd8O4#ImmigrationCorner
Question TWO: If immigrating to Canada as a family, should a spouse evaluate credentials & write language test?
Answer: It is advisable if the spouse is immigrating with you. You will gain more points under Spouse factors to increase your eligibility/CRS score #immigrationcorner
Question THREE: Am I expected to submit a separate Permanent Resident application for my children?
Answer: No! Your children can be listed in your application as a dependent if they are aged 21 & under. There are also exceptions for children aged 22 & older. #immigrationcorner
QUESTION FOUR: My Degrees are from institutions outside Canada, are they acceptable for Permanent Resident Application?
Answer: Yes, but you must do an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) to earn points.The list of designated organizations for ECA is at bit.ly/2nUNPGE

QUESTION SEVEN: I have done my ECA & written my Language Test for Permanent Resident Application, what's next?

QUESTION EIGHT: I have been admitted to a Canadian University, how do I show proof of funds?
Answer: Having sufficient funds for your study is very mandatory for study permit applications. You can show proof of funds in different ways,details available at bit.ly/2G5JLuY
QUESTION NINE:Do I need a job offer in Canada to apply to become a Permanent Resident?
Answer: No, it only gives you more points if you have one. 90% of those who received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the first half of 2017 did not have a Canadian job offer #immigrationcorner
QUESTION TEN: What is the processing time for a Permanent Resident Application?
Answer: IRCC has set 6 months as processing time for all applications to be completed. Processing time starts after ITA has been accepted, documents provided & fees have been paid! #ImmigrationCorner
QUESTION ELEVEN: Is there are Visa Lottery Program in Canada?
Answer: No! Canada does not have any form of immigration 'lottery' program. #ImmigrationCorner

As an foreign student, If you are considering starting your studies in Canada in Fall term (September) 2019, the time to start applying for admission is now!
Application for Fall-term admission open in September and run until Jan/Feb/Mar of the resumption year in most schools. Then admission decisions are made by March/April/May, leaving students with 4-6 months to sort out their Visa before the September resumption #ImmigrationCorner
