Mark Conditt was a terrorist: Religious zealot, anti-LGBT, anti-reproductive rights, played wargames with other religious zealots, then murdered people in the #AustinBombing.

Elliot Rodger, the #IslaVista murdered, was also a terrorist. Identified by @splcenter as the first "alt-right" terrorist. Rodger participated in a broad community dedicated to violent racist fantasies about women.

Dylann Roof was a terrorist. He participated in online communities dedicated to spreading racist hate, fear, and conspiracy. Then he murdered 9 black people in Charleston.

Michael Hari is a terrorist. He runs a Youtube channel in which he spouts anti-Islamic messages, all while wearing a ski mask. He tried to bomb an abortion clinic in Illinois. In 2017, he drove to MN to bomb a mosque.

Atomwaffen, James Field (the killer of Heather Heyer), and Nikolas Cruz are all Nazi-inspired terrorists.

There's no secret conspiracy here, a cabal of cells organized to spread fear. They're doing the radicalizing right out in the open, in internet groups you can go find and join without even trying, in social clubs and religious groups in your neighborhood.
These lone wolves are clearly a pack. We need to start responding to them as such.

Here's why I believe Christine Blasey Ford.

1) Every woman to whom I have been close has reported similar highschool experiences.
2) Kavanaugh's testimony of at least 20 years of aggressive behavior linked to binge drinking.
3) The consequences for coming forward for Ford have been horrific, the rewards zero. The most likely reason to do this are because she's telling the truth.
4) People do make false accusations of sexual assault, but very rarely, and the people who do so fall into particular kinds of types. Ford fits none of those types.

“There are bright spots that the near-ceaseless negative coverage of the administration fails to capture: effective deregulation, historic tax reform, a more robust military and more.”

this is how the GOP became complicit in active white supremacy, family separation, and more.
The GOP decided to back the candidacy of the worst and least qualified candidate in modern history, a serial sexual predator, a cheat and a liar, a racist sexist ableist bigot.

Because tax cuts for rich people and deregulation to make $$ while poisoning the planet.
“Hitler is killing the Jews but we are trying to keep him from killing ALL the Jews. Meanwhile, why won’t the press talk about our tax rates?” - Anonymous Trump Admin.

Good morning. My theory on technology in the classroom is this: Our choice is between surveillance vs teaching students to use tech well. Bans will fail and fail increasingly as technology advances.

Read @TheAtlantic: theatlantic.com/education/arch…
It's become clear over the last 4 years that it's difficult to persuade many people that ableism is a good enough not to ban laptops. I find that ... I find that infuriating.
The evidence that for many students using technology in the classroom has a negative effect on their learning is mixed, but strong enough in certain kinds of classes.

Keep shaming racists.
Keep pointing out the ways that white supremacy is implicit in cases when it isn't implicit.
Social and professional consequences for overt bigotry is appropriate.

I'd like to know if an editor asked Bari Weiss about this paragraph in her own piece that contradicts her entire premise. /1
I understand that these incredibly rich people ALSO want to promote dehumanizing ideology without social consequences. I understand that they want this. /2
The wealthy always want total impunity and to be loved by the people they destroy. /3

White Texas school principal tells staff that next time a black disabled child tries to leave school grounds, "We won’t chase him. We will call the police and tell them he has a gun so they can come faster.”

huffingtonpost.com/entry/shanna-s…
The principal has apologized for joking about getting a child in her care murdered by police.
This racist does not belong in the education business. Also I'd like to know how many of her employees chuckled.
