How on Earth is Yulia Skripal's cousin Viktoria being denied a visit to come and see her not a massive news scandal? What the hell is going on, as if the government didn't look bad enough already! What kind of precedent does it set for when a UK citizen is hospitalised in Russia?

Lets have a look at what has happened from the initial incident - Thread

1/ In the immediate discovery of the gravely ill Skripals, the initial reports said that Mr Skripal was potentially being treated for opiate overdose, specifically the opoid Fentanyl. Why was this reported?

2/ Then the narrative changed to nerve agent poisioning and Media reports emerged of around 40 people being treated for exposure to toxic chemicals - later refuted and totally debunked by Doctor in local hospital.

3/ Next I find it shocking that when dealing with such a toxic chemical People were only advised to wash their clothes days after the event. I mean was there no urgency in regards to public health? Why not?

4/ After this we had the Government line that this was certainly a Russian attack as Novichock could only have come from there, even though reliable sources such as Craig Murray clearly demonstrated that the agents have been made elsewhere.

5/ Fortunately, the next event was that the police officer who became ill as a result of coming into contact with the Skripals recovered. This was followed by the recovery of Yulia Skripal and now it appears her father is also thankfully begining to recover. Cont/

5.1/ Thats great but its very strange as we have been told that this nerve agent is supposed to be one of the deadliest known to man. I'm glad they have all recovered or are recovering but... contd/

5.2/ ...even the chief chemist who created Novichok agents and defected to the USA said that it was immensly deadly and would at least lead to permanent life altering damage.

6/ Then we had the infamous Porton Down interview which directly contradicted Boris Johnsons previous statement that the facility have positively Id'ed the agent as coming from Russia and the subsequent deletion of tweets by the FCO which could have been considered misleading.

7/ Next there was the recent report of the Skripal's animals sadly dying presumably from being locked up alone in their house with no food or water. contd/

7.1/ What is strange though is that there was a previous newspaper report saying that the animals were taken away immediatly after the Skripals were found, in order for tests to be run on them to check wether they have been exposed to any nerve agents.

8/ Now we come to the phone call between Yulia and Viktoria and the subsequent refusal of a VISA for Viktoria which imo is just scandalous. All of this together how on Earth can the government expect us to just accept their offcial line with so many discrepancies.

9/ I'm sure there are more innacuracies/discrepancies that have transpired but I can't recall off the top of my head - anyone have any more? The end result though is that I have #NoConfidence at all in the government or in the media coverage of this whole affair.
