“Okay, let me make this clear, I won’t repeat myself.” The manager says standing in front of the 7 boy’s with a list. “Jin and Yoongi, Hoseok and Jimin, Jungkook and Tae, Joon gets his own room.” The man says before walking away and handing them the keys to the dorms. #taekook

Taehyung on the other hand could care less about Jungkook liking him. He walks over to Namjoon timidly, the leader of the group already knowing the problem and he sighs. He unlocks the door to his own room and lets Taehyung in. #taekook #vkook #kookv
“I don’t want him to find out.” Taehyung whispers because the door is still open. “I know Tae, why don’t you stay in my room and I can sleep in yours with Kook?” Namjoon says giving the younger boy a soft smile. “Joon, I-I can’t do that to you.” Tae says. #taekook #vkook #kookv
“It’s okay, I know you don’t want anyone else finding out, you can just stay in my room.” Namjoon says, never mentioning that Tae can sleep in his room because he knows that’s not what Taehyung will be doing at night. “Why don’t you just sleep here? I-I can just sit over there.”
Taehyung says pointing to the corner of his room where a desk is. “Tae, I know you like the lights on, and I can’t sleep like that. Really, it’s no bother.” Joon says handing the boy his dorm keys. “B-but the managers?” Taehyung asks. “I’ll talk to them.” Joon reassures. #taekook
Namjoon does talk to the managers, and he almost has them convinced until Jungkook walks into the room. “Nope, this isn’t happening. I might not like Taehyung but I’ll take him over Joon’s snores. Either give me my own room or make Taehyung share with me.” Jungkook says. #vkook
It’s hard to argue with the stubborn boy. The managers do understand the problem so they offer Namjoon an apology because they can’t change the room order. This doesn’t surprise Taehyung because the managers don’t know about his insomnia. He was never properly diagnosed.
“I’m sorry, why don’t you just bring your iPad and you can watch movies next to me, maybe you’ll get sleepy.” Namjoon says and Taehyung can’t be ungrateful, Joon is the only one who knows but he’s always tried his best to help Taehyung. “It’s okay, you need to rest well.”
Tae says before going into his shared room with Jungkook. The younger boy is busy setting up his gaming equipment, he doesn’t pay attention to Taehyung. Tae puts his stuff on the bed that doesn’t have all the games and computer and sets down his stuff. #taekook #vkook #kookv
The tension is quite thick with both boys being so quiet. Taehyung plugs in his earphones and turns on some music while Jungkook continues to work on his devices. Once they’re set up Jungkook starts playing games, they continue to ignore each other. #taekook #vkook #kookv
Jungkook eventually gets tired and looks over to Taehyung. He has his eyes closed but he can’t tell if he’s sleeping. Jungkook takes out a guitar from his closet before he begins to lightly strum it. Taehyung has earphones in anyways, he’s sure he can’t hear him. #taekook #vkook
Taehyung opens his eyes slightly when he hears the guitar start. He closes his eyes again, wanting Jungkook to think that he’s sleeping. Jungkook starts to sing “Nothing Like Us” by Justin Bieber, the familiar song ringing through Tae’s ears. #taekook #vkook #kookv
He sings with so much emotion in his voice it almost scares Taehyung. He’s curious about who the song reminds Jungkook of but he’s not curious enough to ask. Before he knows it Tae feels a weird feeling take over him, something that he wishes he felt at night, he feels sleepy.
The next time Taehyung wakes up his shoes are off and he’s covered with a blanket. He turns over to his side to find a sleeping Jungkook on the bed across from his. Taehyung reaches over to his phone and glances at the time, “3:05 AM” He reads to himself. #taekook #vkook #kookv
That’s the most he’s slept in a while. He tries not to make any noise as he leaves their room. He turns on the living room light before seeing his small puppy, fast asleep. Taehyung crouches down to smile at the small dog. He wonders who took off his shoes and got him a blanket.
“It couldn’t have been Jungkook, Namjoon must’ve done it.” Taehyung says to himself. He thinks back to when the band debuted, him and Jungkook were probably the closest out of everyone, they even showered together. Taehyung smiles to himself at the memories of them. #taekook
Taehyung’s smile slowly turns into a frown, remembering that Jungkook would never actually interact with him if he didn’t have to. Their management team forces them to be so smiley with each other in public but behind closed doors, Jungkook doesn’t want anything to do with him.
He doesn’t really remember when Jungkook started to dislike him but he vividly remembers the first time he noticed it. They were in an pre-recorded interview and the MC had asked them to explain their new song. Taehyung was the one to answer, explaining it the best he could.
He remembers the interviewer letting him finish before turning to the director. The director asked if someone else in the band could explain it and Yoongi was a bit ticked off by it. “Tae explained it fine.” Yoongi said and the director sighed. “He just, he took to long to get-

It still makes Taehyung’s heart ache, and his eyes get blurry but he shakes off the tears. He’s learned how to avoid Jungkook, he’s learned to give up trying to please the boy. Just because you fight for something, or someone in this case, doesn’t mean you’ll win. #taekook #vkook

The younger boy stands in front of the bed, stretching his arms up and Taehyung catches a glimpse at his abs. It’s not like he hasn’t seen Jungkook shirtless, he’s even seen him naked, but that was a while ago. As he said, Taehyung has learned how to avoid Jungkook so he doesn’t-
Understand the feeling at the pit of his stomach when he catches the boy’s bare skin. Jungkook walks out of the room with a towel in his hands and doesn’t bother to ask Taehyung if it’s okay for him to shower. Tae closes his book and stares at the ceiling. #taekook #vkook #kookv
He reaches a hand up to his forehead and feels it. “I don’t feel sick, but what was that feeling and why did it almost feel nice?” Taehyung asks himself with a frown. He shakes his head at his own thoughts before changing and going to the kitchen, he had showered a lot earlier.
Taehyung takes his usual seat next to Jimin with Namjoon on his other side. “Can I talk to you?” Namjoon asks him and Taehyung nods his head with a mouth full of fruit. “You slept last night!” Joon whisper-yells excitedly making Taehyung smile big at the older boy’s reaction.

“And you’re one to talk, mr. lamb-skewers and pizza.” Hoseok says easing up the tension at the table. They all continue their conversations before Tae excuses himself to the bathroom. Jungkook walks into the bathroom, not minding Taehyung before pulling his pants down to pee.
“Why are you like this?” Tae mumbles under his breath and he regrets it the second that he lets the words out, because he knows better than to question him. “Like what?” Jungkook asks acting oblivious. “Like nothing, forget it.” Tae says before washing his hands and leaving.
This is typical Jungkook, Taehyung questions what he did wrong, what Jungkook’s deal is, and Jungkook always does the same thing, he acts oblivious. So Taehyung’s learned to not try. Taehyung sits on his bed and he decides to read more of his book. #taekook #vkook #kookv
About an hour passes before he gets a FaceTime call from his good friend Minho. “Hey little one, I haven’t seen you in ages! How are you?” Minho asks with a big smile on his face, and a kind tone, causing Taehyung to smile back. “I know, I’m good, how are you?” Tae asks. #vkook

“Are you getting too busy for your hyung now?” Minho jokes around making Taehyung shake his head with a wide smile. Jungkook walks behind Taehyung who is seated on his before getting on it. “What are you-“ Taehyung begins to question when he feels Jungkook sit behind him.
Jungkook’s legs spread in the same directions as Tae’s and his arms wrap around Tae’s torso before he hides his face in Tae’s back. “Who’s that?” Minho ask with a raised eyebrow. “Oh, hey Minho. How’ve you been?” Kook asks and Taehyung can feel his breath hit the back of his neck
“Jungkook? I’m good, how are you kid?” Minho asks with a smile back on his face, not knowing what Jungkook and Taehyung’s relationship is like. “Good! I was wondering if I could borrow Taehyung here for a moment from you, he’ll call you back.” Jungkook says before hanging up.
They’re both quiet as the call ends and neither of them move. “Get off my bed.” Tae says looking down at Jungkook’s arms that are laying on his lap, wrapped around his waist. He doesn’t like the strange feeling of it all, it’s not like Jungkook is ever genuine with his actions.
“Mmm I don’t know, hyung. You’re so warm, I was getting kind of cold.” Kook teases holding the older boy tighter to his chest. Tae can feel his strong arms and hard chest but it’s all too much for him. “Then put on a fucking shirt, don’t touch me.” Tae replies getting off the bed
“I bet you’d let Namjoon hold you or maybe your precious Minho.” Jungkook says with a tease to his voice. “Yeah, because they’re my friends and I would actually want their touch.” Taehyung says and he sees the small hurt in Jungkook’s eyes but it’s quickly replaced.
“Whatever, I was just calling you because Jin is asking for you.” Kook says getting off the bed, still not putting a shirt on. “You could’ve just told me that.” “I just did.” Kook responds and Tae knows he’ll only get another clueless answer from him so he doesn’t ask. #taekook
That night Kook goes straight to bed after playing video games and it’s pretty late when he notices Tae is still awake. “You’re still awake?” Jungkook asks seeing Taehyung’s eyes open, looking at their ceiling. Tae doesn’t respond, just turns to his side, facing away from him.
One morning Jungkook wakes up to use the restroom but when he turns around to not see Tae in his bed he frowns. “Where is he?” Jungkook wonders to himself. His clock reads “4:15 am” it’s way too early to be awake. He goes out to their living room and looks around. #taekook #vkook

“Seriously Jungkook? Fuck off, I’m a grown man, I’ll go wherever I want when I want and I don’t have to tell anyone.” Taehyung says agitated because he had slept about three hours in the past two days, he doesn’t mean to get in Jungkook’s face but he does. #taekook #vkook #kookv
“It’s not safe-“ Jungkook starts and he says it quietly, scared of his breath actually touching Taehyung’s lips because he might not returning what Jungkook felt when he got so close to his face. “Since when do you care?” Taehyung asks getting closer to Jungkook. #taekook #vkook
“For the sake of the band.” Jungkook says backing up as Tae steps forward, he’s never seen Tae like this, his words are harsh and he seems so cold. “Then for the sake of the band, shut your mouth.” Taehyung says until their foreheads are touching. “Am I clear?” Taehyung asks.
Later on that day Jungkook walks into Namjoon’s room. “What’s wrong with Taehyung?” Jungkook asks and Joon’s eyebrows furrow in confusion. “What do you mean?” He asks. “I mean, why is he such a little shit? He came home last night at 4am did you know that?” Jungkook asks.
“Um, yeah. I knew that.” Namjoon says lying but trying not to freak out himself. “Oh, well he shouldn’t, it’s dangerous.” Jungkook states and Namjoon roles his eyes, “just mind your business, guk.” Joon says. “Funny, he said the same.” Kook responds. #taekook #kookv #vkook
It’s a Thursday night when Jungkook gets home from the studio late. Jin and Hoseok are in the living room fast asleep with the TV turned on. Jungkook goes to his room only to see it empty. It’s almost 3am. Jungkook shakes his head remembering the last time he tried asking.
He goes into the restroom to brush his teeth and walks in to see Taehyung balled up in a corner. “Taehyung?” Jungkook asks. “Go away.” Tae whispers so quietly that Kook almost misses it. “Are you okay?” He asks getting on his knees. Tae’s eyes are red and tired. #taekook #vkook

Taehyung’s head lays perfectly in Jungkook’s neck, still crying and coughing at the same time. Jungkook wraps his arms around him, softly soothing Tae’s back. “Calm down Tae, you’re alright. Let’s go to sleep.” Jungkook says softly. Making Taehyung cry harder because he can’t.
“Gukkie?” Taehyung asks, his face still hidden. “C-Can you play y-your guitar?” Taehyung asks quietly, even though they’re alone. “Right now? It’s 3am.” Jungkook says making Tae cry again. “Okay, okay, it’s okay, I’ll play it for as long as you want.” Kook responds. #taekook
Taehyung gets out off the boys lap before Jungkook moves over to his guitar case. He takes out the acoustic guitar and sits down with it on his bed. “Any special requests?” Jungkook asks trying to lighten the mood. “Nothing like you.” Tae responds quickly, sitting next to him.

“..okay.” Jungkook says, shocked at Taehyung’s request. He strums his guitar lightly, and starts to sing it. Taehyung feels himself get drowsy as the song continues, he lays his head gently on Jungkook’s shoulder as he ends the song, almost asleep. “Anything else?” Kook asks.
“Yeah, but this request you won’t fulfill.” Taehyung whispers. “What is it?” Jungkook asks, his stomach feeling butterflies. “Just hold me.” Taehyung says and Jungkook stands up from the bed and puts his guitar down. He gets on his bed and pats the space next to him. #taekook
“But-“ Taehyung says and Jungkook grabs his hand softly, pushing him down, only to land on Jungkook’s chest. Kook wraps his arms around the older boy and looks at Tae’s sleepy eyes close shut. “Goodnight, baby.” Jungkook whispers before letting himself fall asleep too.
The next morning Joon walks into their room only to see both of the boys completely embracing each other. Jungkook’s head is laying above Tae’s and Taehyung somehow managed to get his head under it, with both of his arms latching on to Kook for dear life. #taekook #vkook #kookv
“That’s cute.” Namjoon says taking a picture of them and walks back out of the room. It’s almost noon when Jungkook wakes up and it’s only because of the body heat that he can feel. He looks down at Taehyung who is holding on to him and he gently runs a hand through his hair.
When Taehyung wakes up he’s not greeted by warmth, or by the hand that was gently running a hand through his hair. He sighs looking at the empty spot next to him, remembering last night and he knows what’s to come. Jungkook walks out of the bathroom moments later. #taekook #vkook
The boy is shirtless and covered in small droplets of water, with a towel around his waist. Neither of them say anything as they make eye contact. “Finally! You’re awake.” Namjoon says walking into the room. “Y-yeah. I’ll be right out.” Taehyung says. #taekook #vkook #kookv
Tae gets off of Jungkook’s bed quickly, ignoring the younger boys stare on him. He changes clothes, not caring if Guk is looking. As he walks out the younger boy holds him back, “you’re not going to say anything?” Jungkook asks. “Thank you, won’t happen again.” Tae mumbles out.
He doesn’t know if those were the right words to say but Jungkook lets go of his wrist so he takes that as, that’s what Jungkook wanted to hear. He walks out of the room and lets out a deep breath, almost feeling like he was holding it in. His heart is beating fast as everything-
Lands on him. All of the events that have occurred, last night, this morning, the interview when Jungkook laughed, everything. It all comes crashing down on Taehyung and he begins to let out a small cry because he doesn’t know why Jungkook doesn’t like him, or if he does why-
He’s been hiding it. What did last night mean? Did he actually care? Did he just pity him? Will he tell everyone else about his sleeping problems? All of these questions run through Taehyung’s head as he slides down the wall and hugs his knees. #taekook #vkook #kookv
Jimin walks out of his room, hearing Tae’s quiet cries. “What’s wrong?” Jimin asks sitting down next to him. “N-nothing Chim, I’m okay.” Tae says wiping his eyes. “But you aren’t, is everything okay? Is it Gukk?” Jimin asks as he holds Tae’s hand in his to try and comfort him.
“I just- I don’t know what I did wrong? I don’t know h-how to take it back?” Taehyung says and Jimin pulls him into his arms. “You can’t fix what you didn’t break, you didn’t do anything, those are questions he should be asking himself.” Jimin says rubbing Tae’s back. #taekook
Jungkook walks out of the room to see the two boys on the ground and his heart hurts seeing Taehyung in Jimin’s arms, but it hurts even more seeing the boy cry. He’s good at faking though, he’s good at walking away and pretending nothing ever hurts him, so that’s what he does.
He doesn’t realize the pained look that Taehyung gives him. “He walks away so easily, I wish I could too.” Tae says wiping his eyes. “He’s only acting, I know him and you do too. He can hold down a lie when he wants to, you just have to get him to tell you the truth.” Jimin says.
That’s how Taehyung finds himself trying, once again because what’s another shot? What’s he got to lose that he hasn’t already lost before? When Jungkook is writing in one of his notebooks one day Taehyung watches him closely, trying to think of a plan. #taekook #vkook #kookv
He walks over to the boy and Jungkook looks up at him. Taehyung didn’t really think it through but he just sits himself on Jungkook’s lap. “What-what are you doing?” Jungkook asks. “I want you to hold me again, like that other night.” Taehyung responds. #taekook #vkook #kookv
Taehyung’s back is facing the younger boy so he can’t see his facial reaction. “Yah, Taehyung, I’m working.” Jungkook says trying to push him aside. “Then will you hold me later?” Tae asks. “What am I your caretaker? Want me to sing you a stupid lullaby like last time too?”
Taehyung’s head fall in disappointment but the feeling of his eyes tearing up at his words aren’t unusual, he’s gotten pretty used to it. “Never- never mind.” Taehyung says and he’s about to get up when Jungkook drops his pen on the ground to hold his hand. #taekook #vkook #kookv
“I didn’t-look- just-“ Jungkook stutters out but Taehyung gives him a very forced smile, one that almost makes Jungkook regret ever saying anything. “It’s okay, it’s stupid, I’m stupid. Next time I have a breakdown I’ll lock the door.” Taehyung says getting out of his grip.
He walks to the bathroom with his head low and Jungkook stands up. “No, no, Taehyung.” Jungkook says calling after him but it’s too late, Tae locks himself in the restroom and crouches down to the floor, once again alone. It’s only 10:33 pm but he knows it’ll be a long night.”
“I’m not moving from here until you open the door.” Kook says sitting down on the ground. “I know you’re awake, Taehyung open the door.” Jungkook tries again. It’s almost 1am when Guk checks later on but neither of them have moved from their positions. “Tae, please, come out.”
“Y-you called me Tae.” Taehyung responds from the other side of the door. “Uh, yeah, I did. Do you like it when I do?” Jungkook asks, confused with the sudden response. “Yeah, I miss hearing your pet names.” Tae says softly, pressing his palm against the door. #taekook #vkook
“Open the door Tae, I’ll hold you and I’ll sing to you. I didn’t mean what I said, I was just irritated.” Jungkook says and Taehyung sighs unlocking the door. Jungkook walks in making sure not to hit Taehyung if he’s behind the door. “I’m stupid.” Taehyung whispers to himself.
Jungkook takes the time to sit next to him before grabbing Taehyung and scooting him onto his lap. “You’re not stupid Taehyung, I’m sorry I said that, I’m sorry baby.” Jungkook says and he doesn’t catch himself saying it but Taehyung does. Instead of commenting on it Tae decides-

Face over Taehyung’s to see if he was awake. When Taehyung doesn’t move Jungkook let’s his lips slowly meet Taehyung’s skin, on his temple. Jungkook holds the older boy just like he had done earlier that week and he doesn’t regret it, he loves every second of it. #taekook #vkook
When they wake up the next morning Taehyung is the first one to wake up. He looks up at Jungkook’s face and admires the older boys peaceful face. Taehyung looks over at the clock and reads the time “7:49am” he reads and he can’t believe how long he slept without waking up.

“Gukkie.” Tae whispers quietly into the younger boy’s chest. “Can we- can we not talk? Just let me hold you?” Jungkook asks and there’s something behind his voice that Tae can’t identify but he doesn’t argue. He lets Kook hold him tightly, as if it might be the last time he does.
The next time Taehyung wakes up he’s alone in their shared room. He walks out into the kitchen to get a glass of water and sees Namjoon on his laptop, peacefully minding his business. “You look well rested, I’m happy for you.” Joon comments. “I am. Where’s Jungkook?” Tae asks.
“He’s out, I’m not sure where. I think he went with Jimin somewhere.” Namjoon says and Tae nods his head. He changes in his room before grabbing his camera. He doesn’t expect to see a small Polaroid picture underneath it. It’s an old picture of him and Jungkook. #taekook #vkook 
He holds the pictures in his hand and thinks back to when it was taken, exactly three years ago. He doesn’t know what this means, but he knows Jungkook put it there for him to see it, maybe it’s Kook’s way of saying he misses the way they used to be or that he does care.
Either way, Taehyung puts it back on his headboard and stands the picture up. Taehyung left to take pictures around their quiet and expensive neighborhood. When he returns he sees some of the guys on the couch and only waves at them as he walks by. #taekook #vkook #kookv

Jungkook goes back up to Taehyung’s face to see the older boy crying softly. “Don’t cry, please I can’t, I don’t like making you cry.” Jungkook says wiping away his tears. “I don’t like when you’re mean to me, you can’t just tell me part of what’s going on and leave me hanging.-

“They pared me with you here because they thought it would be some type of sick joke for their own amusement. One of the days we slept in my bed, one of them took a picture and they told me to end it there and to do it fast. That’s why I rejected you when you sat on my lap.”
“But I gave in, and I made sure the door was locked this time before we fell asleep because I didn’t want them to see us. Even today, you asked where I was when I wasn’t here and they told me I was doing a shitty job. I have the texts.” Jungkook says and he takes out his phone.
He shows them to Taehyung, blocking the name out of the contact and Taehyung stares at the phone, reading the messages telling him to do a better job. “Namjoon.” Taehyung whispers to himself, making Jungkook stay quiet. “H-he wants to be successful and you trusted him the most.”
“Y-you. You know.” Taehyung says like a statement because he doesn’t need to say more. “Yes, I-i know about your insomnia. I’ve always known.” Jungkook says quietly and he doesn’t want to start crying again but it’s hard not to and Taehyung covers his face with his sleeves.
“A-all this time, I was trying to hide it from you and he told me it was a safe secret kept by him.” Taehyung says crying. Jungkook scoots closer and wraps his arms around Tae, letting the older boy lay his head on his shoulder. “It all makes sense.” Tae says piecing it together.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.” Jungkook says holding Taehyung closer to him. They sit in silence, just holding each other, something they’ve been wanting to do for years now. “We’re going to find a way through right?” Taehyung asks, being the first to speak up. “Of course we are.”

When Yoongi is rehearsing First Love, Taehyung sits next to the stage, watching Yoongi rap with so much emotion, it still gives him chills. When the song is done the rest of the boys are sitting down. Jungkook is on his phone, knowing what’s coming but not looking up.

“Excuse me, that’s my line.” Yoongi says standing up. It’s sudden but Taehyung didn’t pay attention to how quickly Jimin stood up and left when Namjoon spoke up. Jungkook sits in his seat, looking down at his lap because he wishes he could take that image out of his mind.
“You’re supposed to be in love with Jungkook, not Yoongi.” Namjoon says and Yoongi’s eyebrows raise in shock. “What?” Yoongi asks causing Taehyung’s mouth to drop. Of course he already knew Namjoon was behind this, it was just shocking to actually hear those words out loud.

Soon enough their lips meet and they both close their eyes feeling the soft and tenderness of each other’s lips. Jin moves first and his hands reach up, pulling Namjoon’s face closer to him. It’s slow but it’s felt with every emotion they’ve kept in for so long.
“Now I don’t want to let go.” Jin says, their foreheads against each other. “I’m sorry baby.” Namjoon says, rubbing Jin’s hip softly. “I love you.” Jin says kissing him again, and again. “Say it again.” Joon asks and Jin repeats himself two more times.
“You guys are making my heart hurt!” Jimin says and the boys turn to look at the younger boy near the door. Jimin’s holding his hands together with a small smile and Namjoon blushes, looking away from him. “Privacy Jimin!” Jin says and Jimin giggles before running away.
