Objectives of the Administrative Of Criminal Justice Act 2015:
(a) Promote speedy dispensation of justice #ACJA_NG improves the administration of criminal justice process so as to increase the efficiency of all criminal justice institutions & promote speedy justice delivery.
(b) Protect the rights and interests of the defendant, and the victim #ACJA_NG makes a deliberate policy of mainstreaming human rights and protecting vulnerable persons and human dignity in consonance with the provisions of Nigerian Constitution.
(c) Encourages restorative justice #ACJA_NG makes a deliberate shift from punishment as the main goal of the criminal justice system to restorative justice which pays attention to the needs of victims, vulnerable persons and society at large.
(d) Modernizes criminal justice tools #ACJA_NG introduces modern criminal justice tools that ensure that records of offenders and their statements are properly documented and other alternatives to imprisonment.
(e) Creates oversight of criminal justice institutions #ACJA_NG recognizes that criminal justice administration requires the participation of everyone in order to be effective. Hence it makes provision for oversight for the institutions from the civil society
(d) and the standing multi-agency committee - the Administration of Criminal Justice Monitoring Committee( @acjmc_ng ) set up by the Act. #ACJA_NG
