1 I am learning to use mind maps so will try to illustrate the broad theme of the book with them.
Will post a complete mind map when I finish reading it.
2. Your memory is the glue that binds your life together; everything you are today is because of your amazing memory. You are a data collecting being, and your memory is where your life is lived. #memory
3 Experience is just a collection of memories after all! Only if you can remember information can you live it. #memory
4 Educators have said that understanding is the key to learning but how can you understand something if you can’t remember it? #memory
5 Understanding doesn’t create use: only when you can instantly recall what you understand, and practise using your remembered understanding, do you achieve mastery. Memory means storing what you have learned. #memory
6 Ken Jennings said, “When you make a decision, you need facts. If those facts are in your brain, they’re at your fingertips. If they’re all in Google somewhere, you may not make the right decision on the spur of the moment.” #memory
7 Memory is the corner stone of our existence. It determines the quality of our decisions and, therefore, our entire life! #memory
8 Learning is the ability to acquire new information, and memory holds the new information in place over time. #memory
9 Our memory is just a HABIT, and habits can be improved with the right kind of training and practice. #memory
10 There are three parts to build a great memory-
Concentrate
Create and connect
Continues use
Let's talk about 'concentrate' first
11 You can have success or excuses, but you can’t have them both.
12 You always have two choices with your life and experience: you can either learn from it or you can place blame.
13 “The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it – as long as you believe 100 percent.”
~ Arnold Schwarzenegger
14 Richard Bandler said, “Beliefs aren’t about truth. Beliefs are about believing. They are guides for our behavior.”
15 Most people don’t realize that when they use doubtful phrases they are setting standards for themselves. These standards become expectations and in the end will become self-fulfilling prophecies.
16 Changing beliefs
First, 80% of changing anything is about why you want to change and only 20% is about how you do it. Take responsibility; it is as simple as having a reason and making a decision that you want to change your beliefs. Second, question the belief.
17 Your beliefs are only the stories that you have accepted to be true about yourself… just decide to change the stories.
18 Spenser Lord said, “Beliefs are not tattoos, they are just like clothes – you can put them on and take them off at will.”
19 There is no failure, only feedback.
20 “If you don’t like how things are, change it! You’re not a tree.”
Jim Rohn
21 “Concentrate all your thoughts on the task at hand. The sun’s rays do not burn until brought to a focus.” ~ Alexander Graham Bell
22 Concentration, like anything in life, takes practice.
23 The reason our attention and focus isn’t that great is because we haven’t trained it. We keep on switching through the channels of our minds and never stop long enough on one specific channel. We pay attention half-heartedly on almost everything we do these days.
24 We are training our minds to have continuous partial attention, and our attention is being fragmented.
25 Multitasking is a myth!
26 It is impossible to focus on two things at the same time. When you are multitasking, you are actually switching between tasks, you are always semi-attending, and it is not very effective.
27 Sharpen up your intellect by returning to the habit of doing one thing at a time.
28 Exceptional work is always associated with periods of deep concentration. Nothing excellent ever comes from a scattered effort.
29 Learning with a purpose increases your attention, comprehension, retention, and organizes your thoughts.
30 Tony Robbins says, “If you want to cure boredom, be curious. If you’re curious, nothing is a chore; it’s automatic – you want to study. Cultivate curiosity, and life becomes an unending study of joy.”

1. Selling options randomly may result in about 80 percent winners, but one or two in the 20 percent of losers could end up with substantial losses.
2. properly managed option writing portfolio should allow its owner to sleep well at night, should be low maintenance, and should be predominantly absent of heart-pounding, gut-wrenching decisions.
1 Just because an
option has high volatility does
not mean that it is a good option
to sell. And just because an
option has low volatility, it
does not mean that it is a poor
option to sell.
2 Unless you love
to gamble, buying options is a losing proposition.
1 It is estimated that anywhere from 75 to 80 percent of all
options held through expiration will indeed expire worthless.
Furthermore, it is estimated that only 10 percent or less of all options
will ever be exercised.
2 "Option selling has unlimited
risk” is all that most investors know about the concept. The term
unlimited risk is enough to cause most investors to cross it off their list
of potential investment strategies without further exploration.
1 Skin in the Game is about four topics in one: a) uncertainty and the reliability of knowledge (both practical and scientific, assuming there is a difference), or in less polite words bull***t detection, b) symmetry in human affairs, that is, fairness, justice, responsibility...
2 ...and reciprocity, c) information sharing in transactions, and d) rationality in complex systems and in the real world. That these four cannot be disentangled is something that is obvious when one has…skin in the game.
