Minimum Wage: My argument for why it needs to be raised and the tough love it will take for businesses to adopt the increase.
1. The Poverty Level Cost of Living is above that of a minimal wage earner. Has been since late 2008 - 2018.
#2 #TrickleDownEconomics doesn't work. Not when the costs of living are higher than the earnable income of a working poverty level family. #TrickleUpEconomics works because the minimal earners can beat the minimal expenses of a POVERTY level AMERICAN FAMILY. (caps for a reason)
The AU Fair Work Commission has handed down it's annual ruling on Australia's minimum wage, raising it by 2.4 per cent to $672.70 a week. It means an extra $15.80 per week for the 1.8 million workers who are paid the minimum wage. This equates to a minimum hourly rate of $17.70
The average price for a gallon of gas in Australia? 1 us liquid gallon = 3.785 liters. $1.47 Australian Dollars per litre.
1.47x3.785=5.56395+/-
If you wish to continue the math. The percentage per hour÷by a single gallon? Who is suffering more when you compare America's numbers
This is another strong point.
WHY is our government rewarding corporations with tax credits for employing welfare recipients, working them minimal amounts of hours at minimal wages, while keeping them dependant on welfare?
How does this math work?
I've heard arguments against raising the minimal wage, normally from businesses that pay employees more than the Federal Minimal Wage. While slamming the idea. I have suggested 10.25 as a base minimal pay, employers who argue against it are sometimes .50 cents already below it...
...meaning.. I don't understand why many of these businesses get defensive about a possible 50 cent increase. Meanwhile giant corporations who might pay the bare minimal per hour, or upwards of 1.25 more per hour proclaim 10.25 to be too much. These same corporations hardly see..
..a dime from their employees being spent in the same establishments. The average fast food employee can not afford to eat at the same establishment. This would possibly change if employees had more money? This theory can be applied to many conglomerates.
Another huge argument is why does it seem our government would rather have people on EBT and other welfare programs, then forcing a minimal wage increase and penalties for underworked employees?
You should be able to get 40 hours a week. Not 26+/-
Finally.
It just makes sense.
You can't expect people to get off of welfare if they can't earn enough to break the chains that bind them.
Just my thoughts.
Thanks

Who exactly are we, those of us who recognize the cruelty and darkness behind that squinted grin? Who dares to stand with all men, all races and creeds? Who are we, that carry those smoldering embers of hope and faith, in unity and equality for all men?
-continued
Who are those brave souls who protest in the name of righteousness and morality, reasoning and disparity? Those people who chant and shake the shackles of freedom, who trudges through day after day, by the skin of their teeth? Who stand against such incongruity?
-continued
Alas, you shall find in a quickened pace, those who you ask, who must we be?
We are the consciousness of an entire country. We are the reasoning before the stones you shall cast, the unity in the division you have amassed.
1. Did it not confirm in your aching American heart, that through Britain's protest of Trump, we were granted solidification in the fears of our reality and our plight. That those voices screaming fowl on the right are indeed wrong.
2. Did it not ring true to the real American Patriot, who stands on the side of Reason, Equality, Justice and History, to hear and witness our brothers and sisters across the pond? That ringing declaration of liberty and justice? That they stand with us. That we're not alone.
3. Safeguard that which provides betterment, that which provides and supports, safeguard the society that cherishes freedom and opportunity. Fairness and diversity. Stand against that which tries to dismantle the very foundation of truth and Justice. That which divides us.
1. When will Mueller be able to explain his case on Trump? When will we see the proof that explains what we know in our hearts to be true? There is no ignoring this plight set before every American who believes in truth and justice, we need closure. We need answers.
2. I believe the FBI. I believe the intelligence committee report.. Russia attacked our country via cyber warfare to damage our country and our election system. The idea, the whisper of Russia lingers in the ear of every American, we know nothing but we know something isn't right
3. The fact is, Mueller has his work cut out for him. Not only is he going to need to present this information/evidence, eventually the people of this country are going to need to come to terms with whatever the facts might be. What should be bothersome to consider is, will they?
Do you believe Trump is Guilty of Collusion with Russia?
Do you believe Trump was video recorded in Moscow, in 2013 and that Russia may have used this as leverage and blackmail against Trump and right now Trump is still upholding his agreement (Whatever it was) with Russia so to not have this video released?
Do you believe that there is much more to Trump's illegal activities, far more than we are aware of and that what we know now is just the tip of the iceberg?
I was raised to believe in my country. To believe in its people and the government's obligations to serve its people. I was brought up and taught to cherish and reapect our military. I was raised to respect the rule of law and to know the difference between right and wrong.
I was raised and taught to respect my country and the people of this country. Period.
I was also raised in a racist home. Where the head of the household used slang words and bigoted remarks on a daily basis.
Words like Jew. Spic. Nigger. Pollock. Wetback. Wopp. Etc etc...
I grew to rebel against it and the hate that came from it. In the end I disowned the part of my family that fed the most vile anger and fear into the family I loved.
I became my own man. Easing my own family. Being the opposite of what I was raised into and grew away from.
