A THREAD ON #ISRAEL'S AIRSTRIKES IN #SYRIA. A relative of mine, who will remain nameless, is a source inside the Syrian Army. I recently spoke to him regarding the Israeli strikes. I told him that I did not believe #Russia would greenlight an Israeli strike of such magnitude...
I was told that #Putin, who many are saying gave #Netanyahu a "greenlight", did nothing of the sort. The Israelis were not given a greenlight by Putin, nor do they possess some magical airforce/bombs...rather, what they did was simplistic...and very stupid...
Russia and the U.S. have an understanding regarding the flight-paths of their fighter jets - they each have each other's unique transponder signals - the Israelis decided to fly into Syria, via Jordan, while transmitting a U.S. transponder signal.
The Israelis did this in order to appear like U.S. fighter jets. Syrians are under strict orders by Russia to not fire on any fighter jet transmitting a U.S. transponder signal. The Russians also do not fire on any jets transmitting U.S. transponder signals.
The Israelis did this knowing it would allow their fighter jets to fly virtually unrestricted and deep into Syrian territory. This is highly provocative and dangerous - not only to Syrian and Russian lives, but U.S. lives too.
What's even more provocative is that Netanyahu ordered strikes using these tactics while being hosted by Putin - this would make it appear that #Russia gave Israel the greenlight - and hence drive a wedge of distrust between Russia, #Syria and #Iran.
The truly terrifying and despicable thing about this tactic is that it shows that #Israel is willing to gamble with #American lives in order to achieve its goals. However, this is not the first time (USS Liberty, Lavon Affair), and I doubt it will be the last...

Crimea is Russian. Crimea has been Russian since April 19th, 1783. Close to 70% of Crimeans are etnically Russian. 84% of Crimeans named Russian as their native language.
Crimea has been part of Russia since 1783. It was Khrushchev and Voroshilov that transferred it to Ukraine in 1954, despite 1 million ethnic Russians living there. The transfer was approved by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union.
The recent co-ordinated effort of @HuffPost, @BBCWorld, @theintercept, @AlJazeera (and I'm sure many others yet to reveal themselves) to slander and character-assassinate voices on social-media that don't agree with their narratives is staggering...
Many of us aren't journalists. We're just private-citizens that want to put our opinion and thoughts out there. We don't work for huge media corporations that have endless resources and money...
The mainstream media outlets leading these attacks do it under the false guise of "investigative journalism" - they try so hard to sound impartial and sincere - but it's so obvious that their ultimate goal is to silence dissenting voices through bullying and coercion.
