One of the biggest achievements usually not talked about is the the construction of PAF BAse Bholari, Karachi. During 1971 War, Maj Gen BM Mustafa was tasked to attack and capture Jaisalmir in India ( Opposite Pakistani Haiderabd). PAF advised that it was in a position1/7
PAF advised that it was NOT in a position to provide air cover to the attack. Contrary to PAF advice, the attack went ahead. THe consequences were disastrous. Pakistani tanks without air cover were no match to Indian Hunters and battle was lost without a fight.2/7
Since then PAF wanted to build a major base at Bholari ( next to Haiderabad) to provide Pak Army positive air support. Four years ago Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt requested PM Nawaz Sharif to approve the Bholari Project who agreed to divert huge funds for the 3/7
