Lyndon B. Johnson, so-called "Master of the Senate", was outmaneuvered by Republicans on the Civil Rights Acts of 1957 & 1960. By desegregating schools in the lawless Democrat south, Eisenhower rallied bipartisan support from northern Democrat senators despite LBJ's vile racism.
John F. Kennedy continued Dwight D. Eisenhower's legacy of Civil Rights until that fateful day when the Bush-owned CIA assassinated our President and a complicit LBJ assumed figurehead power. But it was too late... by 1964, the national momentum was irreversible: veto-proof bill.
