Starting to wonder if they purposely picked someone horrible for SCOTUS so that any alternative who *seems* halfway normal will sail right through. #reflexivecontrol Looking back on Kennedy, maybe that’s what happened with him too.
Kennedy was the first choice. At the last minute someone else was advanced as the nominee. That person ended up having to withdraw in disgrace and Kennedy...sailed right through (and helped lay groundwork for the nightmare we’re living).
They focused a lot on possible drug and alcohol use in his vetting. But I wonder if they checked for mob connections?
