1/ Let’s take a close look at these indictments handed down today, shall we? (justice.gov/file/1080281/d…)

2/ Count One is Conspiracy to Commit an Offense Against the US. It is alleged that Russia, through its military intel agency (GRU) engaged in large-scale cyber intrusion operations and staged release of documents to interfere in the 2016 election.

3/ In paragraph 8, indictment alleges those charged “conspired with each other, *AND WITH PERSONS KNOWN AND UNKNOWN TO THE GRAND JURY*” —this implies there are *UNCHARGED CO-CONSPIRATORS*. Acts began in March, 2016. Releases began in June, 2016, continuing through November 2016.

4/ The indictment provides details about the GRU conspirators. Of note is that these are high level Russian military operatives. This was a direct act of war.

5/ The indictment describes the spearfishing efforts conducted against the Clinton campaign. (Podesta)

6/ The conspirators hacked the DCCC network with malware and keystroke software. They captured communications about fundraising and voter outreach.

7/ The conspirators hacked the DNC network through their access of the DCCC network. They then installed malware and keystroke software on the DNC servers. They also viewed the DCCC’s online banking information. 😱

8/ The conspirators stole opposition research files and thousands of emails from the DNC and DCCC servers.

9/ After being detected, the conspirators persisted in their hacking efforts.

10/ The day prior to @DonaldJTrumpJr meeting with the Russian spies in Trump Tower, these indicted GRU agents populated dcleaks.com with the hacked data stolen from the DCCC & DNC. The efforts were funded with Bitcoin.

11/ They also opened social media accounts and began pushing anti-Hillary propaganda, such as the hashtag #BlacksAgainstHillary

12/ Guccifer 2.0 was GRU. Note para 43 reference to “certain individuals.” These would likely be (as yet, unindicted) co-conspirators. Also note 43c reference to a reporter who received stolen docs. **Para 44 references person who may be Roger Stone.**

13/ “Organization 1” is Wikileaks (though the indictment does not say this). Note para 47a, Wikileaks’ desire to stoke division between Hillary and Bernie voters. Wikileaks failed to disclose Guccifer 2.0 as its source and Wikileaks timed its releases to harm Hillary.

14/ Statutory allegations for Count 1. Please note that this count of conspiracy opens the floodgates to charging numerous other (as yet, uncharged) co-conspirators.

15/ Counts 2-9 — Aggravated Identity Theft. The “aggravated” means it is an enhanced charge under the federal sentencing guidelines.

16/ Count 11 is another Conspiracy charge, but relates to the hacking of state boards of elections, secretaries of state, election software companies, etc. This count is VERY CONCERNING. Rosenstein chose his words carefully today.

17/ Rosenstein merely stated that there was no allegation “in this indictment” that vote totals or that election outcomes had been altered. At this time, we should not jump to conclusions, EITHER WAY. We must wait for more evidence from Mueller’s investigation.

18/ As usual, the Government includes a request for Forfeiture. Because this indictment is against Russian agents, forfeiture may be pursued against the GRU itself.
