I should share my #insurance story. It happened en route to Ajah from Lekki Phase 1. #LiveWithFreedom #Nigeria @youareinsured
My story is a reminder that good things come to those who have key information and those who pay attention to documentation. #LiveWithFreedom
I was driving a BMW at the time and was unfortunate enough to be rammed by a Danfo! Now when a Danfo hits you, you already know they can’t pay for repairs. #LiveWithFreedom
So, you have two options - Shout like a possessed woman & embarrass your ancestors or, take it with your chest and move on. #LiveWithFreedom
But, in this instance, I had a third option – #insurance! When I got my comprehensive car insurance, I remember the company telling me a few things. #LiveWithFreedom
My insurer said that because motor insurance was compulsory in Nigeria, anyone who hit me would most likely have third party insurance at least! #LiveWithFreedom
So, if I ever got hit, I was to take pictures of the driver’s car documents, the damage to my car as well as the person’s insurance policy. #LiveWithFreedom
I emailed all these details to my insurer. I also emailed my mechanic’s estimate. After inspecting my car, the full sum was remitted, less a small percentage, which was covered by VAT anyway. #LiveWithFreedom
I now drive with greater peace of mind. We may all be “mad” on Lagos roads, but at least I have insurance for other people’s madness. #LiveWithFreedom #InsuredAssurance
What’s your insurance story? Please share and don’t forget to use the #LiveWithFreedom hashtag!
If you're at @ikejacitymall this weekend, also stop by @youareinsured's stand. You'll be pleasantly surprised to see an accident in progress and how #insurance can help. Follow the unveiling via #InsuredAssurance and #LiveWithFreedom!
