The only thing that stopped #Portland from being next #Charlottesville was several centimetres of helmet. Police sent two people to the hospital for head injuries in attacks justified by claims of non-existent "thrown projectiles" in order to protect the heavily armed far-Right.

This was carried by police who for months have used the same tactic - shoot one side to allow the other to escape. In this case, Proud Boys, who for months have attacked citizens walking on the street, were allowed to march and attack more people.

The Portland police are also on record saying that Patriot Prayer is "more mainstream" (guess Kek flags, people who attended Unite the Right, and shirts celebrating mass murderers are mainstream now) despite the ongoing links between far-Right violence and out right killers.

This also isn't first time police have worked with far-Right or neo-Nazis. In Sacramento, CHP worked with racist skins to ID protesters THAT THE NAZIS STABBED, in Portland, militas helped police make arrests, in Cville, police worked with Nazis for months to produce disaster.

These policies of "protect violent far-Right," are justified again + again by faulty reports from fusion centers, that often pull from lielords like InfoWars + other far-Right sources, which just like they did in lead up to August 4th, paint 'ANTIFA' as the more violent threat.

From "Unmasking Antifa Bill" to "emergency rules" put in place tomorrow in #Berkeley that allow police to declare any gathering a riot to speed arrests, to the near murder of protesters in Portland today - all point to the reality that social movements are State's key targets.

The disgusting + horrific irony is that this clamp down actually does amount to a major attack on free speech, political organizing + civil liberties - but since it comes from grassroots + is aimed against State power, its demonized by everyone from Trump to Alt-Right trolls.
