Captain Mizuki is a very unique character design. It's not often that you see extremely muscular women in mainstream entertainment. And she's presented as extremely attractive, but not in a fetishistic way. It's not just the idea, it's the execution that really makes it work.

I think it's crucial to Captain Mizuki's portrayal that she primarily looks COOL rather than sexy. I personally don't have any problem with sexy characters, just saying that this approach makes her come across as effortlessly sexy. It's very unforced. It works so well!

Captain Mizuki is as unselfconscious, relaxed and focused in her mannerisms as the cool male characters in One Punch Man.

Mizuki's demeanor, poses and expressions are very different from say, She-Hulk who often has a come hither expression. Or Wonder Woman who typically looks like she's posing for the camera (which actually suits her mythic characterization).

I think there's a reason people are going nuts over Capt Mizuki. She's scratching an itch that has gone neglected for a long time for many readers. One that a lot of folks didn't even know they had! It's like finding a new fav food with a combo of flavors you didn't know existed.

Hot dang. I just love how Yusuke Murata lovingly details her abs! It's so good! The contrast between her iconic expressive face and super realistic abs is FANTASTIC. It takes masterful execution to make such disparate elements blend so seamlessly!
