"I would've told you I was going to see my doctor afterwards" Tessy said, "I didn't know I was pregnant, I'm sorry" she added.

I paused for few seconds; turned to Oge, looked at Tessy while trying to hide the mini heart attack I just had!

"You can't be pregnant" I said to Tessy with a voice as silent as the opposite of loud, "you're pregnant?!" Oge exclaimed!

"Yes!!" Tessy replied, "isn't that what you told him?" She added.

"Uhm.." Oge stuttered, I stood there looking further confused

"You're pregnant?"

"Yes!"

She explained how she had an appointment with Sherikoko's father when she found out he was a doctor, "wait?! You're serious?" I asked Tessy & she said yes;

"What have I done to these village people" I thought;

"T.B.D!" someone suddenly screamed

"The Baby Daddy!!" I heard again

I turned to see who it was;

"Uchman the hitman!" I saw Progress laughing

I knew my life was over at that point.

"What's going on here?!" Oge reacted, "he's now a baby daddy like 2face" Progress said!

"We're going to have a baby" Tessy said, "aren't you happy?" She added

Ehn?

I turned back to look at Tessy's face & it became blurry, I tried to move close to her & I found myself struggling;

I could still hear Progress laughing & screaming "TBD!"

Suddenly!

I felt someone tap me on my shoulder;

"Your food is ready" I heard & I immediately woke up!

"Shit it was a dream?!" I silently exclaimed, "I made yam and oil while you were asleep" Oge said as she meticulously arranged the food in a tray beside me.

"Would you like me to boil hot water for your hurting finger?" She asked;

"You've done more than enough, please go study"

She told me she already went to check coursemate's room & he wasn't home, "I called him & he said he went out" she added.

"Okay then, can you stay here for the night?"

"Yes sure! That's if you don't mind"

I paused for a bit & tried to be sure I wasn't dreaming again...

"What exactly is going on oh Lord" I thought, "Why always me?" I thought again & I heard Angel Progress silently reply with "Balotelli"

I'd dreamt that I ate yam & oil & it ended with Tessy being pregnant, now I have yam & oil in front of me & she asking to boil me hot water..

"Maybe halting the process of the dream would make Tessy not be pregnant" I thought so I immediately came back to life; after being gone for a split second

"It's fine by me!" I reacted, "you can do anything you want" I added

"Oh thanks" she said & I told her she was welcome

She immediately stood up so I decided to pounce on the food, Oge made movements behind me but I didn't pay attention.

While I was eating I got a call from 'Steph' but I ignored; Steph was a girl I'd been talking to & wouldn't mind upgrading her rank in my life.

She called again

I grabbed the phone with my left hand & picked, "is that your side chic?!" Oge immediately said as I was about to mumble my "hey baby" from my trachea, through the edges of the yam stuck in my mouth down to Steph

"Your girlfriend is with you?" Steph asked me from the other side!

I immediately ended the call out of frustration caused by ultra confusion, I turned back to look at Oge & to my greatest surprise she was standing naked right in front of me!

I looked away by reflex & my eyes immediately went to my wall clock, it was past 2am in the morning!

"Why don't you have clothes on Oge?!"

"Why did you look away, am I not attractive?"

At that point I knew my village people wanted to capture me the gospel way,

"Sister Oge" I said as I gradually turned to look at her, "please just call me Oge" She replied as she walked closer.

Suddenly!!

My phone rang!

"God I bless your name 'cos you always deliver me" I cried within as I reached for my phone, luckily it was Progress calling

"How far?"

I heard loud music in the background so I asked where he was;

"I dey Ibariogwa live with my sherikoko"

"Ok, so?"

"I dun dey alright, my sherikoko is having a good time!" He said again, I was getting agitated so began to hurry him

"Na why you call me by 2am?" I asked & he said no, "I see you girl Tessy" he followed up.

I told him Tessy went to her aunt's

"Ehen?"

"Yes"

"Maybe I dun high"

As I tried to swiftly reply & discharge progress in order to deal with the demon in my room I felt a hand touch me, "It's fine I've worn my clothes now" Oge said as she touched me

I immediately ended the call with Progress, dumped my phone aside & turned back to look at her!

She had a pair of 'bum shorts' & a 'spaghetti' top on, the light from the bathroom reflected into the room so I could partially see her face

"Oge what's going on here?" I asked, "you were preaching to me about church some seconds ago" I added.

"Forget about church!" Oge replied

"I'm tired of all these!" She exclaimed as she gently sat on the bed, I immediately started to pray & hope that I was dreaming

"I don't understand, what's going on?" I asked, "what do you mean Oge, tell me what you mean!" I added;

"Ok.. don't wake your neighbours o" She replied

"Can you stop speaking in short hand and tell me what exactly is going on" I said as I finally felt the last straw being pulled;

"2 things" she replied;

"2 things again?" I exclaimed

She asked what I meant & I told her to ignore & keep talking, "It's Tessy" she said;

Te-what?

"She.. uhm" Oge stuttered, it was already past 3am in the morning & I could feel the serenity in the neighbourhood

"She did what?!" I cut her short, "she.. she" Oge stuttered for the second time in quick succession!

I wanted to react again when my phone rang!

"..Tessy calling

"Don't pick up!" Oge reacted with a David De Gea kind of reflex, there was no chance to hear out as I already picked the call

Oge suddenly grabbed the phone from me & ended the call, it was the most confusing & mysterious night of my entire life.

"Oge! Have you gone crazy?!"

I moved closer to Oge in a bid to collect my phone, as I approached her she took steps back towards the entrance door;

The room was a self contain but it had a little space between my bed & the T.V. stand which was beside the door;

I pondered what she was up to but went closer!

She soon got to the door & leaned against it, "what kind of game are you playing this midnight?" I asked Oge as I walked closer

My phone began to ring again!

"Give me the phone" I said as I finally stood in front of her;

"Take" She said as she stretched the phone towards me..

As I tried to grab the phone she pulled me closer with her hands such that I 'landed' on her breasts, it was a different specie of awkward silence as I stared directly into her eyes!

Suddenly! (Somebody say suddenly!)

We began to kiss!

"Uche what are you doing?" I asked myself

We had barely kissed for 60 seconds when I heard a knock on my door!

"Shit! Who's knocking by this time of the night?" I thought

"Who's there?"

"It's me!"

"Who?!" I asked as I couldn't identify the voice, "shit that's Sam!" Oge reacted as she handed my phone;

"Who Is Sam?"

*Knock Knock*!! We heard again & this time I could no longer hide my frustrations, "who the fuck is Sam & what the hell is going on?!" I furiously asked

"He's my coursemate" she replied, "the one that stays in this hostel" she replied

"I thought you said he wasn't around?"

I opened the door & shockingly saw 'Sam' my neighbour!

"Is Ogechi here?" He asked as I opened; "She's here"....

"Uche I have to go study now" Oge said as she walked towards me holding her handbag..

I turned to Sam to ask him some questions but he was no longer by the door!

"Bye!"

"Bye!"

Oge closed the door; I followed up in other to lock it, I gently walked towards the bed.

I picked my phone to call Tessy & realised my call credit had been exhausted, I placed the phone beside the bed & began to reminisce;

"Why always me Oh Lord?" I thought..

I laid down & started to recount all that had happened that night, I had so many unanswered questions;

"Who is Oge & how did she switch from 0 to 100 real quick?"

"Is Tessy who she says she is?"

"Even Progress is confusing me.."

I dwelled on my thoughts & finally fell asleep!

*Knock Knock*!! "Uche! Uche!!" I heard & suddenly woke up!

It was 7:35am in the morning & someone was knocking on my door, I got up quickly & went straight to the door to open

"Why's Oge banging the door?" I thought as i opened the door

To my greatest surprise it was Progress!

"Guy your girl has ruined my life!" He wailed as he walked into the door, "I'm finished!" He continued in his silent display of agony

"Who ruin you?" I asked & he said it was Tessy, "she had destroyed my life!" He cried again

I asked him to calm down & tell me what was wrong..

He then explained how he & 'Sherikoko' saw Tessy 'chilling' with Sherikoko's father at Ibariogwa!

"What?!" I exclaimed, "Guy you sure?" I asked & he said yes;

"We see them for another table, my sherikoko come begin cry" he added.

"How?" I asked;

"Dey ask me!" Progress replied

He then explained how Sherikoko left him at the joint; how he tried to go after her but she warned him to stay off!

"She say we be birds of the same feather because your babe dey run her popsy"

"But wait, Tessy talk say she dey go her aunty house"

"No be only aunty, na uncle!"

"So my dream was true?" I exclaimed, "Tessy dey use my head?"

I turned to Progress to ask what the 'way out' was & I saw him facing the wall, he had one hand on the wall & the other on his shoulder;

"My Sherikoko! My Sherikoko!" He wailed..

"Tessy dey mess my style up!"

"The same Tessy?" Oge walked in showing us a photo of Tessy & Sherikoko's dad, "this was taken last night" she said

"So it's true?!" Progress screamed, I asked how she got the photo& she said a friend in 'IMSU' sent it to her, "Tessy isn't who she says she is" she added

"Chai!"

I started to feel pain instantly & immediately located my bed to sit on, "Why she gonn do me like that?" I wailed within..

"She didn't say it was an open relationship" I thought..

"Sorry for ruining your morning but you deserve better" Oge said, "I have to go" she added!

Okay

I tried to ask Oge further questions, before I looked upside she'd disappeared!

I just let her go..

There immediately came an awkward silence in the room;

But..

Suddenly!

Progress's phone rang!

He picked, talked for few seconds & ended the call!

"Guy you go drink beer?"

Beer was the magic word for us; there's an unwritten rule that about beer with us, no circumstance should take the joy of drinking beer away.

It was a Saturday & rounding up my series of unfortunate ordeals with beer didn't sound like a bad option;

"Where?" I asked

"For town!"

He said his classmate 'Obinna' just called to remind him about a birthday party in Owerri; "him dey come pick me for here by 11am"

I looked at the time & it was almost 10am, "11 O'clock dun reach finish o" I responded

"Go get prepared Let's drink away our sorrows" Progress said

We decided that the best option was to drink; we'd join Obinna in his car & spend the rest of the day at a party in Owerri town;

"No wahala" progress said as he went to shower! He soon finished, came out to change while I followed suit;

While in the bathroom in remembered Tessy

We soon got set & in no time our ride arrived, we joined Obinna in his car & drove to Owerri town.

We arrived at the party & could hear loud music from the gate, Obinna found a parking space; parked his car & we went in.

We stepped into the compound & it smelt like fun!

Yaay!!

We joined the party & immediately we sat down I remembered to ask whose birthday it was, "I no even know" Progress replied - "na Obinna sabi dem" he added.

I looked at him, kept mute & brought out my phone - to my greatest surprise I saw 5 missed calls & 1 SMS from Tessy;

"Hmm"

"Call me" the text wrote, I decided that I'd call her back so I stood up ..

"I dey come"

I walked to the gate, opened it to go outside & as I stepped out I saw a car parked beside the gate!

I looked & saw a familiar girl talking to the driver from outside;

I looked again!

I was shocked at my finding;

"Tessy?!" I curiously exclaimed as I walked towards the driver side of the car, "what are you doing here?" I asked when I got closer;

Tessy wasn't responding so I moved closer & tapped her; she the around & to my greatest surprise it was not Tessy!

"Can I help you?" This lady responded, "Oh my bad, I'm sorry you look like someone I know" I said in a bid to apologise.

"It's okay" the car driver said from inside as I tried to walk away, "I looked at him to thank him & I couldn't believe what I saw;

Sherikoko's Father!

How?

"What's going on here?" I thought, "I must be dreaming" I thought again. I tried to take a second look at the man when I heard my name from behind!

"Where you dey go?!" Progress said, I looked at him with confusion in my face

"Why u dey look like who see ghost?"

"Check the car

I froze for some seconds while Progress came closer, "young man I said you can go" Sherikoko's father said again!

"Oh yes.. Sure.. Sorry sir" I stuttered, "wetin dey happen Progress asked as he finally came close;

"Na sherikoko papa dey there" I signalled;

"Ehn?! My in-law?!"

He immediately went towards to the car for some closure; I walked further away from the scene still dumbfounded - I'd barely walked one meter away when I heard my name again

"Guy wait!" Progress said as he called my attention;

"No be sherikoko popsy be that" Progress said

How?

I became further confused, "but I see am with my two eyes!" I tried to argue;

"Na him twin, dem resemble" he said, "I know my in-law when I see him" he said again!

I stood there still confused when we heard a car honking!

"Why those ones dey blow horn anyhow?" Progress said!

The car honked again & this time it was accompanied with head-lamp flashing, "e be like na for us o" I said

We walked towards the car & the passenger door opened, to the delight of Progress & to my shock;

It was Cherry!!

"My Sherikoko!!" Progress screamed as he ran towards her

"Baby!" Sherikoko screamed as she ran to hug Progress, they hugged each other for a few seconds while Progress started to apologise on "our" behalf;

"No, I should be the one apologising" she said, "I keep jumping into conclusion" she added

"How do you mean?" Progress & I asked!

"My dad's twin has been around & I keep mistaking him for my dad" she said

She explained how found out she was wrong.after getting home to find her dad sleeping

"I've been trying to call since I woke up but your phone is off" she said, I came here for uncle & saw you" she added

"Cherechi! A deep voice called Cherry from the corner; we looked & it was the man from the car, he had come out of the car & walked towards us

"Uncle I came for you!" sherikoko said, she did a formal introduction & we all got familiar;

"Nice to meet you"

"Nice to meet you too"

That was the point we realised that we'd been dealing with a case of 'false alarm', Sherikoko's uncle was a widower who was dating this girl that looks like Tessy.

I called Tessy to make sure she corroborates the story & she did

"I'm in school"

"Alright Baby, see you soon"

We ended up at the party which was Sandra's (Sherikoko's uncles girl) birthday, we ate, drank & later went back to school.

Progress went home with Sherikoko so I went home hoping to call Tessy when I change, I got to my door & it was open;

I got in & saw Tessy laying on my bed!

"Surprise!!"

She said as I walked in, I was excited from drinking at the party so I crawled up to her on the bed;

That was how we spent the night together, she told me how Ogehad threatened to "steal me away" & we laughed about it

We talked, cuddled & of course!

You know...😁
