Sooo... CNN released poll data a few hours ago that is pretty damn remarkable, and it's worth noting the highlights.
First: in just 4 months, Americans favoring "stricter gun control laws" has sharply risen: 52% to a whopping 70%. That's astounding.
#GunReformNow #BoycottNRA
2. This is the first time in more than 20 years of this particular polling question that a plurality of Americans have an unfavorable view of @NRA.
3. Moreover, of the mere 26% of Americans who oppose "stricter gun controls", nearly half of those (12%) only "moderately oppose" them. Only 14% of Americans have a "strong" opposition to gun control.
4. Nearly 60% of Americans now favor a ban on production of the AR-15.
5. This one is pretty significant: those polled who agree that "government and society can take action that will be effective in preventing shootings" has increased from 47% to 64% in just four months. FOUR MONTHS.
Disagreeing? Dropped from 49% to 32%.
6. That question has been asked by CNN since 2011. This is the first time ever a majority--let alone a significant majority--has agreed that government can prevent shootings from happening.
7. The movement against gun violence arguably has more clout than ever. Keep up the pressure. Keep up the boycotts. Keep amplifying voices like @Emma4Change and @shannonrwatts. THIS IS WORKING. /thread
