Hearing a lot of angry retorts saying "#Windrush has NOTHING to do with #Brexit" and "Its the EU that's racist prioritising other EU citizens over others"

Well... #Windrush was happening before #Brexit, that IS true. However, it is part of the same xenophobic rhetoric that our heartless Tory government has been pursuing...

So they are absolutely linked, on a macro level as to the type of policies shaping our country today. The hostile environment is thriving because of the enablers of #Windrush and #Brexit

What #Brexit has managed to achieve for me and many other Remainers is to shine a brutal light on what citizens from non EU countries have experienced for years... at the mercy of the home office

It demands a bigger picture mentality but the dots are undeniably linked up. The only upside of #Brexit is that I'm now, as the younglings say "woke" to the abhorrent, demoralising way people have been treated.

It means I'm even more motivated - not just to fight for my rights, my kids and other fellow EU citizens - but for ALL citizens. Because it doesn't matter where you were born. It's the luck of the draw! All human beings deserve to be treated with respect and dignity

We now see just how cruel and heartless these people are when they HAVEN'T had an external agency monitoring their behaviour (I.e. the EU) with the safeguards in place. And May et al want to go further and strip more rights. From ALL OF US

Soon those safeguards will be gone and nothing will stop them from doing whatever the hell they want in the name of #Brexit

So it's not about #Brexit and trade deals any more. There's a bigger game afoot. It's about how OUR rights to live with dignity are under attack. We need to all come together and fight this.
