1. Quick Friday evening thread on some things that were released today from Grassleys office. Some good, some that make me angry. Off we go!

2. On January 25, 2018, Grassley sent a letter to Wray asking LOTS of questions about the text messages of our two favorite FBI staffers, Strzok and Page. In it, he questions the messages, and also asks for answers on whether the Justice Dept considered a special counsel (cont)

3. ..for the Clinton investigation. He also questions McCabe and the timing of his recusal, and transmitting government records on non-government systems. Please read this letter. It is compelling. judiciary.senate.gov/download/grass…

6. Letter, continued. He addresses many very significant and detailed points. Today, we received responses and counter responses. Read on.

7. The FBI refers Grassley to the forthcoming OIG report for the answers he seeks to the question of a SC for the Clinton email investigation. This lets us know (likely because they have been investigated thoroughly) that the OIG report will definitely contain this information.

8. Where it gets REALLY dicey for me, is the respnse about the text messages and whether or not they were comm on personal devices. The FBI basically says here, "Sorry. Anything on personal devices we wouldn't ask for and hasn't been provided BIG PROBLEM. "judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/…

9. Why wouldn't the FBI look at their personal devices and email, ESPECIALLY since we know from recently released text messages, that they were using those devices to perform work related duties?? (the gmail drafts, etc). This has been PUBLICLY acknowledged! FBI is making me

10. Thankfully, Grassley says the same thing in his next letter. He notes that they didn't answer anywhere near all of his questions, and he cites examples of how the texts we have received prove that these two didn't GAF about gov. information.

11. It seems to be a culture thing-- no one follows the rules, everyone skates around them, everyone lies, cheats, steals, COMMITS TREASON, ya know, just another day at the office. Here is the letter. judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/…

12. Essentially, Grassley is sort of incredulous here. So am I. I don't think this is OK. However, lets leave this aside until we get the NEXT response from the FBI at some point, and look at ANOTHER letter that was sent today. They are challenging McCabes defense-

13. McCabes lawyer states there were emails to Comey to prove Comey knew about the leaking. The OIG didn't provide those emails, nor are they mentioned. Grassley wants them (if they exist). READ:

14. I think the only thing that would STOP these from being produced (if they exist) is that McCabe is under criminal referral, and if they DO exist, it is likely his attorney is using them as part of his defense, or they are locked up in the investigation as a whole.

15. Thanks for reading! Will keep you apprised. So much happening! (PS: @Nick_Falco rocks) #JustSayin
