Under Trump/GOP, US becoming more & more destitute:
US has highest child mortality rate of 20 rich countries
US among highest child poverty rates in the developed world, at 21%
US also high obesity rates, income inequality and incarceration rates
U.S. Dept of Ag reported:
~25% of children in rural U.S. were poor in 2016
~20% in urban U.S.
Highest concentrations of child poverty in MS Delta, Appalachia & Native American reservations.
THIS is just one example of how poverty affects people in urban areas. There are many, MANY more ways. Debtors' prisons are apparently being used again.
Get them down and keep them down, right, #CorruptGOP???

Erik Paulsen is known for his "pop-up" sessions.
He suddenly pops up unannounced (or announced online mere minutes before it happens) in grocery store aisle for 10 minutes to talk to people. That's NOT accessible.
➡️That's another way of hiding from constituents. #PaulsenFail
Erik Paulsen's well-known for not holding town halls.
He hasn't really held town hall in over 7 years...ones he claims to have held recently were limited to hand-picked people, in hand-picked locations, and hand-picked questions.
Erik Paulsen's also well-known for his "empty seat" town halls.
You know, the kind of town halls that his constituents set up and try to get him to come to since he refused to hold any on his own.
Zephyr Teachout is a well-known political activist. She's also Associate Professor of Law at Fordham University and has worked tirelessly against corruption and social injustice.
She is a specialist in antitrust law and corruption, and is the best choice for NY Attorney General.
Zephyr's pretty amazing...I've been watching her for several years.
* Ran against Andrew Cuomo for Gov/got ~35% of vote, pushed him to left.
* Tireless to root out corruption & 1 of first to support "little people." #Zephyr4NY Zephyrforny.com huffingtonpost.com/jedediah-purdy…
"Ms. Teachout is, in effect, the godmother of the current moment — the first of the spate of female candidates, campaigning around the country now, to emerge from anonymity and reveal the depths of dissatisfaction with establishment politics." #Zephyr4NY
Guess those talks didn't go as well as they thought:
North Korea accuses U.S. of making unilateral demands for denuclearization. 1/ #NorthKorea cbsnews.com/news/north-kor…
Guess this tweet was a "teeny" bit premature.
Trump gave NK everything they wanted and left with absolutely NOTHING. 2/ #AnotherTrumpFailure
Kim is playing game at a whole different level than Trump is and already got what he wanted...a photo with American president to legitimize his leadership. 3/ #TrumpFail businessinsider.com/trump-meets-ki…
Since Trump supporters don't care about immigrant children:
Republican donors/rich Trump supporters are raking in millions, eventually billions, of OUR tax money...but Trump administration could go back to Obama policy and pay less than $40/day per immigrant. #ItsAllAboutProfit
More questions:
Where are the babies, the toddlers and the little girls?
Are those babies the ones that were sent to the adoption agencies?
Why isn't the Trump administration even TRYING to reunite these families?
Is there more profit in detaining them or adopting them out?
Not 'new' news, but retrospective comparisons to #TrumpRussia are pretty déjà vu.
In 1987:
Donald Trump, Wharton Dean Donald Palmer and former White House Chief of Staff Donald Regan named in scheme to divert Wharton funds to Contra rebels in Nicaragua. Big scandal then. 1/4
President Ronald Reagan claimed he had no knowledge of their scheme. Wharton secretary acted as link between Wharton Dean, Russell Palmer, and Oliver North. 2/4 Link to Daily Pennsylvanian full article pdf (from 4/2/1987): library.upenn.edu/docs/kislak/dp…
