In this piece, I contextualized what #FakeClinics / #CPCs / #CrisisPregnancCenters are. I noted that most fake clinics have a documented track record of providing misleading, harmful, & inaccurate info about contraception, abortion, pregnancy, and #reprohealthcare. 2/

When I noted that thousands of #FakeClinics dot the U.S. landscape, I also mentioned how these #CPCs are funded by highlighting the @Rewire_News work of @reportbywilson and @jennstanley_ 5/ rewire.news/article/2016/0…

Since January, @Rewire_News @AllyBoguhn has also not stopped doggedly letting us know when a person is appointed to a position in the Trump administration and has links to #FakeClinics, like this appointment for a position in a federal Health office 7/: rewire.news/article/2018/0…

Also since January, @Nicolekshine for @Rewire_News hasn't stopped reporting on the insidious ways in which #FakeClinics use tactics to manipulate search engines - and how Google is remaining silent on this - 8/ rewire.news/article/2018/0…

Because when we talk about #FakeClinics telling lies, it runs deep, it involves our tax dollars, it implicates our federal health policy, it affects our online search information. 9/

Because as I noted in my piece from January, these clinics don't just tell one lie, they tell many lies, about many health realities that people face. 10/

For example, one of the #FakeClinics I looked into for my January piece states on its website that the morning-after pill (aka PlanB) causes an early abortion. This is False and @AngryBlackLady broke it down for us in this 2013 piece for @Rewire_News: 11/: rewire.news/article/2013/0…

Like many other #FakeClinics, the one I looked into also falsely claimed that abortion may increase one's risk for breast cancer. But, research has debunked this & leading med orgs like ACOG, Natl Cancer Institute, & American Cancer Society all agree acog.org/Clinical-Guida… 12/

So as we take in the decision in #NIFLAvBecerra, dont be fooled by the depth, implications &lies that r told & promoted each day by #FakeClinics. They r not new &very dangerous. I look forward to continuing to work w/ @Rewire_News as we won't stop reporting on them, SCOTUS or not
